Derren Brown perpetuating junk / pseudo-science

I think his latest serie The Experiments were his worst yet for spreading pseudo-science. Especially the Assassin one.

The Book of Eli - (mod note, spoilers included)

I loved it, I thought its core messages was about how religion can be used to control people and that control, in the wrong hands, can be dangerous. The book didn't hold any power, more that it was a symbol. It was just an object that could be exploited to control people and gain power through...

What do you recommend for a PS3.

NBA2K11 is a brilliant basketball / sports game. But I would check out Trine on the PSN store, it's wonderful.

Explain the maths of this to me please.

So, I was doing some Project Euler. I got the solution via my program but it took about 2 hours to run since it was a brute force solution. However, once you solve the problem you can access the thread for that problem and see other people solutions. There solutions were dead simple but I...

Oh I didn't realize that the Nazi's went to Mars

I'm sure this is going to turn out to be the prologue for an upcoming sci-fi movie.

    PS3 number 3 dead.

Sigh. My third PS3 died tonight. Can't believe how unreliable I have found them to be. First 2 were replaced under warranty, but this one is out of warranty so I'm going to have stump up ,£250 to buy a new one because Sony seems to have made their units out of snot and tissue.

The guys at NASA getting stern

It's kind of depressing, people have a way to ask an expert in the field some pretty interesting questions and it seems he gets nothing but planet x and conspiracy nonsense. What a waste. This made me lol though: Excellent.

Creationist's Take on the Big Bang and Expansionist theory

Re: Creationist's Take on the Big Bang and Expansionist theo It might just be me, but isn't that sentence entirely gibberish.

    Photography

I quite like the grafitti shots. I also really like your shot of the path leading down to the lake. Here's my flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/39622186@N05/ I know, it's mostly cars but there are some non-car shots.

Derren Brown perpetuating junk / pseudo-science

Derren Brown may not claim to have mystical / supernatural powers, but he certainly claims to be able to use psychology and read body language and a whole host of other pseudo-scientific nonsense. I genuinely believe that 90%+ of the people who are Derren Brown fans do not believe that what he...

Comfort and Cameron distribute Origin of The Species.

BUT with their own introduction. They are going to be distributing 50,000 copies to students at Universities in the US. I've read there introduction and it's largely the same old creationist rubbish.
