I've been thinking about doing this kind of thing (a sort of Idiot's guide to science) for a while, only problem I'm not versed byond an american High School education on any of the topics I want to cover, and there are many I'd like to cover.
I could not date a creationist either. It would be far to much of a headache and a major strain on the relationship, because one of us would constantly be trying to convince the other our respective positions where correct....
May I add my two cents to this Moral code discussion.
While I think it is a good idea to have a moral code (I have one I follow, developed over many years, taken from many sources.), I don't think a "Cultural" or "Traditional" code would be a good thing. traditions can get stuck in the time...
I don't really have any superstitious behaviors any more. For me it was easy to shed them, and it's annoying when I see family members do them, like throwing spilled salt over ones shoulder to avoid bad luck. I mean come on...
Though there is one thing that was listed I've never heard of...
Ok BP, let me inform you of something here, and this is coming from a former christian mind you and of the fundie variety (Seventh Day Adventist. Still makes me shudder with disgust...)

And this is only coming out now? :? I've been using the "You people believe things written by people who where high as larks (needs new name...)" argument for YEARS. Surprisingly effect too.
Just to put in my two cents, it's always a better idea to with hold such information untill you can get out on your own. Though to be fair, sometimes you can't. I certanly wasn't able to. Fortunatly enough the instant that the truth was revealed went off perfectly in my favor. Though I must...
