No, not entirely. It's more definate than that. It's not about my opinion, it's not even about being wrong or right. Jesus Christ is the Lord, He is real, everyone will know it someday. That's the whole purpose - to come to the realization of who He is, and who we are in relation to Him. Therefore there is no way anyone will ever be able to show me (or anyone else who knows He is the truth) that I'm wrong. It's absolute.

That's the whole purpose - to come to the realization that he isn't real, and who we are in relation to his non-existence. I'm being facetious here, but bear with me, for the sake of argument.

So what now?

I have just, by your own logic, proven you wrong.

So there.

Prepare for a logical double standard. That's what I predict as a response. Empiricism only applies to our side, we're not allowed to use crappy logic to justify our disbelief. ;)

I have one last question for religious fundies. Its about their cult manuscript.

Imagine that S.E.T.I picks up a signal from space, and they receive a large digital book.
Now...what kind of intellectual criteria would you apply on that book, what would you expect from that book?
What kind of knowledge, wisdom, technology, galactic maps, etc etc etc.

Now....God, who is supposed to be far far more intelligent and all knowing sends us a book, and what do we receive?
Something more intelligent than our theoretical book from the aliens, or less?

Well, the supposed god,´s book is pathetic, and anybody who associates the creator of the universe with that book humiliates the creator.
Its like....the cult manuscript is s*it, and you take and smear the creator all over with it. Why?

None of the cult manuscripts contain anything remotely written by superior intelligence. They contain only the stuff that ancient bronze-iron age men knew. Just imagine what would you expect to receive from a book sent by aliens...and now multiply that with xxx times.

and that "every knee will bow and know that He is Lord" (at the end of the day) even non believers.

I'm sorry, but that phrase right there is one among many which drove me away from xtianity forever. It's not in my nature to bow down to ANYTHING.

Is there *anything* that could falsify your beliefs? Would you want to know if you were wrong?
It's been a while since I've been on here and just saw this. #1) Is there anything that could falsify my belief, or #2) would I want to know if I'm wrong?

I realize my reply may not be well received or believed. Quite simply the answer is no to #1 and not possible to #2. That is what happens when The Revelation of Jesus Christ happens in our lives - or in other words - belief and trust in Him. We now know the truth, and it's not even an option that it is wrong - as it is reality.

Again, please no comments on why you think it would be ignorant, etc because you don't believe. If you don't believe, I understand, thats not the question. My question is simply that above. IF something like that happens, would it prompt you to take a closer look at God/His Word?
You refuse to consider someone else's hypothetical but you ask us to accept yours? Why are you so hypocritical? That's right, because you're Christian...

The question wasn't "would you want to know that you're wrong," the question was "would you want to know if you're wrong..." You're still evading... like a Christian...

I facepalmed hard.

marielee seems a textbook case of 'transmitting, but not receiving'.

The words come to mind, "I once was blind, but now I see." That doesn't mean we don't sin and mess up. That's why you see Christians sinning, being in pride, sometimes even looking down their nose at you,w hen they shouldn't be. I know, I've done it myself, and it is plain wrong. But I also know that we all do that sometimes, even w/o Christ in our lives, but there are some more humble than others. It means that we realize our sinful state truthfully and through life experiences and fiery trials we learn more how to repent from those sins, and love the Lord our God and love others. And we want to repent from those sins, not because of obligation, not because of self righteousness (for we really have none), but the Revelation of the Love of Jesus Christ. The Song Amazing Grace is so beautiful and may explain some.

Marielee, I appreciate your honesty on these forums. I actually understand and agree with a lot of the morals (ethics) taught in many religions (although not always how they are taught). I feel this way because I have considered the points themselves and have decided for myself whether or not I feel they are right or wrong. I don't disagree with many religious doctrines per se, but rather in the method they are delivered, and in the lump sum of them all together. I stopped waiting for a light in the sky to answer my questions a long time ago, and I bet every member of any religion anywhere has some doubts as to their ascribed beliefs. They made the personal choice to be in the religion, after all.

So when I feel humility, conscience, or compassion, I'm not going to give god the credit I deserve for it. ;)

Flipside; as I made this decision myself, I must also expect to bear the full weight of its consequences, especially when it is wrong.
