The stupidest thing a creatonist has ever said to you

"All text taken directly from online Christian fundamentalist forums."

This one has been one of my favorites on youtube for a year now, so many great creationist quotes =P

That was one hell of a video! Perhaps all of it is true except that you need to swap atheism and religion. And the 'burning a christian at stake by a bunch of atheists' part, hilarious, just hilarious. Again, swap and it's true!

Creationists seem to be good at re-appropriating what was said, without noticing any of the logic or content involved. We all tell them they're dogmatic and suddenly they realize "dogmatic" is an insult, so now in the creationist mind all them damn atheists are dogmatic. We tell them the are irrational, and they realize "irrational" is bad, so now all atheists are irrational in their minds. We have logical arguments that look like:
If A then B
if B then C
A
therefore C
So they have creationists arguments that look like
If A then B
if B then C
C
therefore A

Not just dogmatic. We tell them they believe what they do on blind faith, so they consider that a bad thing and throw it back at us! While at the same time insisting it's a virtue to believe on blind faith...they basically make fun of themselves when they try to insult their opponents by saying they have blind faith.

Ah, I recognized those quotes were from FSTDT before it said so. ^^

These are mostly just side effects of the believer's mind... They argue not to find out if they're right, but because they know they're right and their arguments are just post-hoc rationalizations. As such, anything that says they're wrong gets rationalized as well; so things like telling them they believe off blind faith (and that's a bad thing) can be rationalized in two ways: either "so what, blind faith is a good thing!" or "nuh uh, you believe off blind faith!" Because, in their mind, they are right and we are wrong, they already know this, now they have to figure out why they're right. If you show their argument is wrong, you've only shown them that they were wrong about the reason they're right, not that they're right. And as such, we get these rationalization side effects.

i like throwing religious people off their game.

so i asked one of my coworkers

"So who does god say that intersexed individuals should marry? How do they avoid committing sexual sin?"

after a bit of fish-mouthing at my explanation of intersexed conditions, she just goes "homosexuality is a sin, god punishes it with eternal suffering."

me: "but..but...how are you qualifying people with characteristics of both sexes as homosexual???"(and here's where my original intent backfired)

her: "they exist."

me:  and then :?

oh how i hate living in redneckville.

I can't look at this topic for too long.

Some people frustrate me so much with their idiocy that it makes me want to eat my own face.

why would i ever argue from [spontaneous generation] when I believe God created the world and everything on it, not some inanimate object popping things into existence.

Someone once said something to the effect that the fact that Hitler used evolution was in fact an argument against Darwin's theory of evolution.

Think you could make the argument that Christianity is therefore not a religion and therefore not protected under the 1st amendment? And since the Prop 8 folks seem pretty keen on legislating relationships, the liberal-atheist-media conspiracy might put forth a referendum outlawing relationships with Jesus. I mean, if we allow that many people to enter a relationship with JHC, then we'd obviously have to allow polygamy and relationships with dogs, amirite?

Recently someone asked for my help. She told me to pray for her. I could not help but smile in this situation.
