I feel like crying.
I'd feel like crying too if my head were laying on the ground like that.

More seriously, I know what you mean. These aren't exactly easy to replace...

The events history remembers as revolutions (in the context of government) are not known for their peacefulness. I can't think of revolution without thinking "revolt."

Isn't the whole point of looting to get away with the loot in tact? Why? Why destroy irreplaceable pieces of human history?

The best statement I've yet seen is at 0:45.

Yeah I love that video and in particular that quote...

I like the the Muslim Brotherhood (moderates, non violent) backed a liberal secularist as the next leader.

Hopefully this tri-decade dictator steps down soon.

Sadly they'll probably replace the dictatorship with a theocracy... I wish I could find it, but a news organization was reporting that Iran's foreign minister was quite happy because this was going to lead to a muslim middle east, but very upset that the USA was interfering.

My girlfriend (government major and minor in foreign affairs, or something like that) pointed out that (1) there are plenty of worse things than dictatorships, and (2) if all the middle east revolts and puts in their own democratic governments it will almost inevitably result in a war with Israel.

My view of fearing the Muslim Brotherhood too much. I'm mildly concerned about radicals or fundies taking the country, but that is no reason for the fear to grip so many people. I was even concerned as a knee jerk reaction, but looking into the Brotherhood has left me feeling far more at ease.

Right now there are clashes in and around Tahrir square and there are large clashes with stones being thrown, military have just come in, standing on their tanks unarmed telling people to calm down.

"pro-Mubarak" demonstrators attacked the anti-Mubarak demonstrations! With LETHAL force!
They are so obviously civilian cops, paid thugs, etc. Police IDs have been fond on pro-mubarak demonstrators.

What the hell is Mubarak thinking? After a week of people protesting the fact that he is inside the nation, he has crews videotape "protesters" that support him and then play that on tv constantly. These "protesters"call for people to join them on Mubaraks behalf. What the hell did he think would happen? Of course there is now fighting.

According to the live stream, a fire has started at the entrance of the Egyptian museum.

Mubarak said something along the lines of "damnit what didn't you understand about what I said earlier? I've got a plan to ammend the constitution."

Something tells me that he has no idea what the protesters want.
