Sheesh, what is up with you?Worldquest said:Off topic, p Scum.
Worldquest said:I suppose it is a bit too subtle. Having said that, some people get it. I just find the idea of posting smilies and silly signals a bit unnecessary. I prefer to cater for the more intelligent among you.
No? What is it then? If I claim that I understand the whole universe with more accuracy then you, doens,´t it mean I feel superior to you?Worldquest said:Do I think I'm superior to you? Not really although I certainly feel that I see things in a way which are more accurate / true than your way of seeing things. But that's not the same as a feeling of superiority.
Ages? I believe they could never find anything ridiculous about my position. You believe in absurd bullshit, I don,´t, thats the difference. You are certainly welcome to believe whatever you want, thats fine for me, but if you go to a puplic forum and talk about it, I certainly have the right to tell you my opinion about it.Worldquest said:Go to a spiritualist forum and see how long it takes for you to be ridiculed, it will probably take ages on average, compared to an atheist forum..
It,´s not because the material world is so obvious to us, but because there is no evidence for anything except it.Worldquest said:What does that say? I think it says that the material world is so "obvious" to us all, especially for an atheist, that it just seems so ludicrous (and therefore anyone who thinks so must be mad), that there's more.
Let me say it this way: In some ways I find your views pretty hilarious(ie there is no magic invisible poodle on the moon - honestly it....Worldquest said:In some ways I find your views pretty hilarious (ie the material is all there is - honestly it seems a bit naive, a bit like painting by numbers, do you know what I mean?)
That certainly depends on HOW differend you see things.Worldquest said:It's part of the human condition to see things in different ways, and that isn't insane
Well, i don,´t really care much for what you "feel" about the natural world, if I feel that the moon is made of cheese, it doens,´t make it so. What I care for is evidence. So, can you present any evidence for anything outside the "material world" if not why on earth should anyone believe it for not good reason at all?Worldquest said:Perhaps we should be talking about why, on as fundamental a level as possible, you lot feel that the material is all there is, and why I feel that it is not.
Um. Project much?Worldquest said:Why do you think your instinct was to react in such a defensive way? What do you think is causing you to feel that way?
Ozymandyus said:So let's ask a real question: why are you here and what makes you keep posting these inane posts that lack any coherence or point? Do you have some evil plot to waste our time as much as possible so we don't spread our atheism around?

How is it that each of your posts in no way reflects what is going on in the thread... Here you are being defensive about how you are sorry that you are being somewhat trollish and its because you are in a funny mood... and when Prole says no need to apologize and makes no move to defend himself nor address the wildly off-base attempts at insults you say HE is being defensive? No wonder you are religious, you can't even comprehend the reality of a normal conversation, much less the way the world actually works.
So let's ask a real question: why are you here and what makes you keep posting these inane posts that lack any coherence or point? Do you have some evil plot to waste our time as much as possible so we don't spread our atheism around?
Worldquest said:That's a very common assumption you're making, why do you assume that I'm religious? Which religion am I a member of, do you think?

*Looks at the Title*
Umm... If you're not an Atheist, then you have a very good chance of having a religion, considering the only way you can become Atheist is to not have a belief in any theism.
You're either religious, or you're not.
Ozymandyus said:I have no idea what religion you are a member of, because you are being evasive for no reason. But you are obviously a theist since you are Not an atheist. In any case, sorry if you didn't see the obvious correlation between your theism and my use of the word religious instead of theistic: I should have known you would not have been able to understand the point since you are being so purposefully obtuse.
Worldquest said:Yes I think the mistake you made was that you made an assumption that I must be religious because I'm not an atheist. It's not uncommon for atheists to make such an assumption, and it comes from a lack of understanding of what religion means. Why don't you look it up.

No, you not just Not an atheist. You are a theist. You said so in your first paragraph. Explain what you are then: before you claim that people are making assumptions when you are just being misleading. There is a difference.
ImprobableJoe said:Wow, I totally profiled Worldquest correctly, didn't I? The dishonest evasiveness about his true position fits right into that whole business of his trolling for responses that allow him to reinforce his negative view of us and his completely unearned sense of superiority. He's just jerking everyone around, instead of being straight-up and showing some integrity and basic polite behavior.
Real people who come to have real conversations and discussions with other people, when asked "what are your beliefs?", just give an answer. Trolls answer "I'm not an Atheist, I'm not a theist... but I'm going to insult you for making assumptions while continuing to not give a straight answer." Next, he'll ask you to play guessing games, just to jerk everyone around a little more, and pad that superiority thing some more.
Shit, he is starting to sound like every psychopath on TV during the interrogation scene, isn't he?
Hmm, well you did give one vague hint earlier that you would take the new testament and other people could have the old... So presumably you are some kind of christian (or at least base some of your theism on christian revelation). Well what do you know, christianity happens to be a religion! Guess what that makes you: Religious! Shocking!Worldquest said:I've already gone into plenty of detail about my position and my beliefs. Maybe you should bother to read them instead of making yet another assumption (ie that I have not done so).
Timewaster said:Hello people. I'm Worldquest and I'm what you might call a christian (well not so much these days) hippy spiritualist type person. Pretty open minded really. I'm a musician too, with some pretty damn funky music under my belt. I've been to Stonehenge and Avebury in England and felt the vibes, seen the sun set, that sort of thing. Yep, that's it for now.

I find it especially hilarious that you can't answer a direct question 3 times when it would have a simple answer, and instead expect me to comb through your word salad posts to find out the answer, when just a few posts ago you admitted that you didn't bother reading people's posts THAT YOU WERE REPLYING TO.
Okay, so we got it: you are religious, you are a hypocrite, you are incredibly dense, and you are not worth any more of my time. In case you are wondering, these are not assumptions: these are deductions based on direct evidence. That's how we people that believe in reason and evidence figure these things out. I'll leave it up to you to think all 'atheists are evil' for whatever wibbly faith-based reasoning led you down that path.
Worldquest said:No no. Again, another assumption, and twisting my words. I'm not a christian, so I don't fit into your neat little box that you're delibretaly fabricating in a cheap attempt at labelling me as religious when I have never said that I am. Nice try though. I find it espacially laughable that you should actually try to call me a christian when I'm not, nor have I stated that I am. Guess what, I don't even believe that jesus existed, how's that? What a pathetic attempt at making me out to be religious. Go back to the drawing board because you're clutching at straws. I love it, I must be the world's first christian who has repeated said that they're not, and also doesn't believe in Christ(ianity). Love it, keep 'em coming.
