I'm glad you reconsidered to some extent. The thing is, if people's weight was not directly linked to sodas, which it clearly ISN'T, you would HAVE to establish a base tax for elementary goods that contribute to bad health if you aim to make Americans healthier, which is coercive to begin with...
I don't think you're going to have much luck taxing Coca Cola to subsidize a competitive healthier substitute. Imagine if I tried to take from you, to subsidize your neighbor, who seeks to take your market share and put you out of business. Its completely bankrupt. I don't care how bad Coca Cola...
You just said poor people are more likely to be fat than rich people, and you want to tax cheap food as the solution... I hope you see the irony of that. That's just the tip of the iceberg. What about the poor people outside of America? What about the farmers whose livelihood depends on...
I feel out of place here... I skimmed through most of this and found the great dichotomy: government healthcare vs. "free market" healthcare. I guess the only good thing to come of this authoritarian jerk-fest is that this is conclusive proof there is no god.
To ignore the last 8 pages, its basically a pie in the sky idea that shouldn't even be pondered right now. There are better better ways to structure (or lack thereof), than the current one, but this is impractical in the short term and probably not as ideal as it sounds in reality..
Its a stupid tax, as all of them are, pure and simple. It doesn't really matter if OP stopped drinking soft drinks, its clear it had nothing to do with the taxes. Its just another way to keep the government's gears oiled. What if I don't want to pay the soda tax, what are you going to do about it?
Web bots are not reliable, superstitious bs for people to think they find something dependable. For every "prediction" they land, they fail 50.
As far as "2012" goes, most of the coverage is complete nonsense. There's no reason to believe "we alls gonna die!". There are a lot of fear mongers...
I heard about him from checking out David Lightman. Reinhardt is pretty sharp, I've read related writings in Wired Pirate about devaluations (I think R was involved or linked to it somehow), it was spot on. From the sounds of it though, I don't think R likes his profession or the way business is...
Insinuating that I'm a racist, constantly bringing up crap like aliens and mafia, and claiming that people who don't hold your position are not in "reality". You're an ad hominem machine who doesn't care what the answer is to any question because you've done nothing but dismiss it with "CIA...
These are such bs videos. Going after unprepared people to show that you have the answers to everything. Its just like those videos claiming to stump Dawkins because he pauses to think about an answer.
Purposefully misrepresenting my position time after time with your condescending bullshit. You're making this a flame war and I'm not interested. Fuck off.
You always pull that crap. The NSA is the NSA. Chicago tribune did a pretty big piece on it and had input from a lot of people who survived the Liberty; the NSA is who releases the documents, the NSA clipped pieces of audio, thus the NSA is "in on it". Withholding evidence is obstruction of...
Not that it means much to you, but I find the USS Liberty a much more damning "conspiracy" than anything to date. There are tons of witnesses who say that the NSA has clipped out pieces of tape that confirms Israel knew the USS Liberty was a US ship. The government at the time didn't buy...
Presenting yourself as a moderate doesn't inherently give you more credibility. I could easily say you don't have your feet planted in reality for equating zionism to delusion and conspiracy. Zionism by historical context is textbook conspiracy. No dice. From your posts it sounds like you don't...
Why, because you made a snarky comment trying to straw man a political position. Being anti-[group] doesn't make you a conspiracy theorist, or otherwise batshit crazy. Two fallacies in one, here's your combo points. I brought up the Liberty because whether or not you believe that was...
