I seemed to have moved to the left a little bit, but im still on the right side of the spectrum.

yeah, herd mentality :p

I did take it some weeks ago and I did try to be original.. I failed, I was more or less on par with most of You :)

I also took it some months ago and I seem to have moved towards left, must be the wind.

Quite simplistic and lacking in nuance, but I guess it's a decent rough estimation. It does strike me as a bit odd that traditional conservatism or pragmatism is not on the curve, but from the questions posed it seems like these positions don't exist anymore..

In any event, my compass:

Okay, I removed the image because it put me incorrectly when I tried to post... I am 2.25 on the economic right and -4.00 on the libertarian side.

Technically a "libertarian neo-liberalist". It looks like I am still a libertarian in the sense that I am distinguished from a neo-Con (whew!) despite recently renouncing Austrian-economic libertarianism.

You do realize that the chart doesn't actually force you to adhere to a position, yes?

My Results on the "Political Quiz" (the other one):
Conservative/Progressive score: 9
You are a social progressive. You generally consider yourself a humanist first. You probably think that religion and patriotism go too far in society. You probably consider yourself to be a citizen of Earth first rather than a citizen of your country.

Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 7
You are a Moderate Capitalist. You support an economy that is by and large a free market, but has public programs to help people who can't help themselves or need a little help. Pretty much you believe in the American economy how it currently is.

Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 5
You're a Moderate. You think that we all have certain inalienable rights that must be protected, but that sometimes laws need to be made to protect the majority's lives or quality of lives. You might think that the 2nd amendment isn't necessary anymore because letting everyone a gun is extremely dangerous to the community. You might also be against illegal drug use or public pornography because of its possible harmful effects to society.

Pacifist/Militarist score: 1
You're a Pacifist. You are angered that the United States thinks it should dominate the world through its military force. You think that the only time war is necessary is when we are in direct danger of being attacked. You also believe the US spends way too much of its money on defense, as we can practically cut it in half and still easily defend ourselves, and use that money to fix all our economic problems.

Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Democrat
Around where I expected to be, I suppose. Link: http://politicalquiz.net -- A far simpler test than the Political Compass Test, but nevertheless, a fair attempt at defining my political views. It also has an American slant to it.

I tend to really hate these sort of things, but what the hell... I guess it might be fun:

Conservative/Progressive score: 11
You are a social progressive. You generally consider yourself a humanist first. You probably think that religion and patriotism go too far in society. You probably consider yourself to be a citizen of Earth first rather than a citizen of your country.

Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 12
You're a Social Capitalist, you think that, left to its own, Capitalism leaves a lot of people behind. You think that Health Care should be free to all, that the minimum wage should be raised, and that the government should provide jobs to all that are capable of having them. You likely hated the Bush tax cuts, and believe that the middle class has gotten poorer, and the rich have gotten richer over the past several years. The far extreme of social capitalism is socialism.

Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 3
You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism.

Pacifist/Militarist score: 9
You're a Militarist. You believe that since the United States has so much power in the world, it has a responsibility to keep the world safe. You think that if the US does not exert its power in the world, it may eventually lose its power, and that we can not look weak in the face of terrorists, and must take them out where they live.

Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Hardcore Democrat

This is, of course, a vastly oversimplified estimate of my position. Some of this stuff is demonstrably stupid too, for instance: "You likely hated the Bush tax cuts, and believe that the middle class has gotten poorer, and the rich have gotten richer over the past several years." That last bit is a statistical fact, does anyone not believe it? If so, the statement should read, "you are correct in your understanding of recent demographic trends."

Holy crap, a ton of problems with their "descriptions"

*Conservative/Progressive score: 9
You are a social progressive. You generally consider yourself a humanist first. You probably think that religion and patriotism go too far in society. You probably consider yourself to be a citizen of Earth first rather than a citizen of your country.*

Actually, the frequent disagreements with ImprobableJoe that I have tell me that I am *not* a social progressive. I am *not* a humanist by any stretch of the imagination. Also, I consider myself a citizen of my immediate community before I consider myself a "citizen of the earth", and I consider myself a citizen of my country before I consider myself a citizen of the earth. Wow...

Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 0
You're a Capitalist Purist. You believe that the market should be completely free, and that the invisible hand of the market will make sure that the people get what they want and will do it in the most efficient way possible. You believe in small government, less taxes, and more privatization.

Actually, I don't believe that the market should be completely free because I have dropped Austrian-economic libertarianism as untenable and support fractional reserve banking. I believe that more free markets than we have now could allocate resources more efficiently, but I do not believe that this *optimizes* efficiency. The last sentence is the only correct one.

Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 1
You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism.

This is essentially correct, except for the fact that *innate rights* such as natural rights, intersubjective consensus and utilitarianism are retarded concepts that fall flat when examined carefully.

Actually, this is the most correct description so far. There is a *ton* of generalization with this one... I didn't like it that much.

Indeed. Not even remotely surprising though, when you consider the size and power (i.e. foreign policy) of the United States. :)
