Unfortunately, that is handpowered. Be smart, Rex, keep your diesel ;)

For the most part, I get around town on this:

Minus the disc breaks.

When I need to buy groceries or go somewhere far I use this:

Don't be jealous.
I had one of these. Had a turbo and cool air intake, with a sweeeet paintjob. Unfortunately, I was involved in a street racing gang and flipped in one night. Tough lessons.

That's a shame. You should've picked up some chicks with those. No woman would refuse to ride such an irresistible ride. Oh well.

Not having a car on my own anymore, I borrow my parents car for regular driving, a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander

(looks exactly like this one)

It's not as useful as the pickup we had before was, but still a good workhorse for dragging whatever needs dragging, and surprisingly good 4WD for something without difflocks.
The standard stereo is fantastic, the ride is amazing and I simply love this car for regular driving, it does 0.65-0,7 per 10 km (diesel)
And man is it fun to push this thing, sporty as hell too
Price is steep though.

Onward to more fun things
This is a Mercedes Benz Gerlenderwagon 240 fieldwagon

Until recently I drove one on a regular basis, and most likely I will again shortly. Without a doubt one of the more fun things I've driven, difflocks and torque ftw, who doesn't love a bit of offroad.
These things can take a beating to, and believe it or not, being a passenger when they fall onto one of the sides is fun as hell! (just tip it upright again and drive on afterwards)

And in closing. Dustnite and ImprobableJoe. Great cars!

Is it strange that I recognised that the buses were Finnish before noticing you were from finland?
Not really. I did the same. I wondered about his city for about a minute before I saw it written on the side.

I'm a public transportation guy too, though it's trains for work commute. Buss', trams and subway for other trips.

Spork, or anyone from GB, really, quick question on manual transmission cars over yonder. For me, left to right, it's clutch, brake, gas. Is this true for you as well, or is the entire setup reversed? I have been contemplating a trans-atlantic trip for a while now, and if I rent a car I feel at least knowing this ahead of time will result in learning the layout quicker. Same for the gears, ours go top left 1st, bottom left 2nd, top center 3rd etc. Same, or reversed as well?

I also heard that automatics are quite rare outside the US, or nonexistent. True? I wouldn't mind if its manual only, but if I'm not comfortable with the reversal in shifting arms then I may prefer to just be rid of the process, as I hear you guys prefer to get automatics for that reason when you come over here.

Automatics are widely available, but they aren't adopted by the majority of people. I am not sure the reasoning behind this, I put it down to a cultural thing. The same applies to the rest of Europe I think.

The pedals and gears are the same as yours but pedals and steering wheel are simply on the other side of the car. I've driven a manual car in Greece and was able to get used to it fairly quickly but the gear changes are one thing extra to think about. I've also driven an automatic in the US and found that quite easy to pick up also since the only thing you really have to worry about is driving on the correct side of the road :D

I'm comfortable driving either as I like the challenge ;) But for comfort and if you'll be driving long distances I'd suggest an automatic if available with cruise control :)

Hope that helps :)
