What's Your Ride?

Not really a car guy, but I do like to hear what other people drive, and it could be insightful for future purchases. Also, with a lot of members being from all over the world and all, some of the models you find to be dull would be somewhat exotic to foriegners.

I drive a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt LS coupe, manual transmission. Nothing to brag about, as its the cheapest of an economy class, but the fuel economy is GREAT. I got up to 41.2 mpg on a recent road trip (also has a fuel economy display, which is novel to me as all my previous cars were from the mid-90's or earlier). Plus, there is just something about manual cars that make them fun to drive, so I love it and dont see mysel upgrading anytime soon (unless I win the lottery, in which case I will be getting an '88 Camaro with a ridiculously powerul engine, like a 450 or more).

Mine is a darker blue with a few more dents in the door, as some asshole decided a hit and run would be a good idea.

I own a Mazda 323F just like the one on the picture. It's a diesel so it's a bit dull and I sometimes regret not getting a petrol powered car. Average fuel consumption is 6,85 l/100km, although I drive mostly in a city.

White 2-door 2009 Toyota Yaris
pulls me nearly 40mpg on a 1.5 litre engine, and I drive about 2 hours a day. Very comfortable car to drive, and so far maintaining it has been cheap too. Had 26,000 miles when I bought it only a few months ago, already at 34,000. :(

@DepricatedZero

nice, I was pondering buying a Yaris, TSport version, damn it was quite quick for such a tiny car. Both that Yaris and my car are 2002.

2004 MG ZR Turbo Diesel, was originally 99bhp but I've 'tweaked' it, and it's now running more like 150bhp and heaps of torque (200+ lbs/ft) and still manages 45 MPG without trouble ;) I've put a lot of miles on it, was at 73,000 miles when I got it 18 months ago, it's now got 96,500 :S Due for a service soon... contemplating doing it myself this time.

If you look closely you can see my wife's hand as she is 'flipping me the bird'.... how nice.
