America here, Verizon is my carrier. I need a new phone, since my wife stole my HTC Thunderbolt.

I figure you guys are all sort of tech-savvy... do I get another Thunderbolt? Do I get an iPhone? Do I beat someone up and steal their phone?

It would help if you mentioned what it is you're looking for in a phone. I don't think too many people here will believe that there is an objectively best phone for everyone out there...

It depends entirely on your needs and requirements. Anything that doesn't have fruit on it, for a generic answer ;)

So, one vote for not-Apple, one for smoke signals, and one abstention.

My last two phones have been the original Droid and the Thunderbolt, so I'm a smart-phone, Internet and podcast-listening kind of user.

Samsung Galaxy S with Vibrant.

When I bought it, I discovered the truth -
I will never need another phone ever again. It's just at the level of High Tech where I would like to stay. The Data plan allows me to just flip around and have constant updates about the weather, incoming texts, call friends, take picture, and watch movies.

Shit, I haven't even bough a new computer upgrade since I have bought this phone.

The only reason I've gotten a tablet is because I want a god-mode techie fashion to the room with a control hub hanging on the wall.

My mate Mr Malaprop has a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, which is quite swish and swanky. It has a pretty massive screen and is chunky, if you like that sort of thing. I have one of these (tweaked, of course), which I only got because my trusty ol' walkman phone died. It has a radio, plenty of space for on-the-go music (8GB) and a snes emulator, so all's well.

That's a bit mental. I think only the phone-whose-name-shall-not-be-uttered was the only (temporarily) network confined phone in recent memory. Not that I know a damn thing about the market...

Iphone. Love it, don't want anything else, love it (did I mention I love it?)

Shit, now I have to slap a mirror and moonwalk three times.

Cheers, Squawk.

Well, Verizon decided to give most of the Samsung phones a pass since it is getting the latest Nexus in October with Android 4.0 pre-installed.

BTW, I've been without a phone for the past... ummmm... 48 hours or so, and I'm sort of losing my shit here.

I resisted phones for years

I carried my laptop around with an aircard and just used skype

I recently picked up an Optimus-T with T-Mobile and it's really very nice. I don't have a frame of reference with other phones, but I really like mine.

It plays music, audiobooks, has a camera, internet, I can tether to replace my aircard, email, irc, gps, maps, it's got everything!
