I'm sure most, if not all of you have seen VFX's e-begging. I think we should react against it...maybe find some bible verse saying you mustn't get money out of preaching or anything and spread it to his sheep.

I'm just having a hard time seeing someone who lives in a palace and can't keep a job because of his preaching, beg for money and actually getting tons of it. If you take a look, you see people donating 5, 10, 15 dollars...just think, 100 supporters each sending 10 dollars is already 1000 US dollars...and for what? so that he can set on his lazy but, preaching to his sheep?

Sorry for the rant, but I'm sure we all agree that this is downright pathetic...

No different from TV evangelists doing the same thing. A sucker born every minute comes to mind. mind you if he isn't careful he could end up sharing cells with his best buddy Kent.

The more vocal a religious person, the more likely that they are a lying con artist... VFX is loud, a liar, so his move to scamming people for money is a natural progression.

Just point out that he's following hovind down the path to prison by breaking rules and laws about evangelizing at work. Also find and explain his tax laws to him about charitable donations and what he has to do to remain within the law. Jesus said Render unto Ceasar that which is Ceasar after all.

But what tax fraud is he going to commit with 0 income?

And If he doesn't find a paying crowd...

... I'm kind of concerned. If his parents don't make sure he'll never have to work in his life, at some point he'll stop saying nonsense online.

Even though he is an annoying prick, he is kind of entertaining...

Sheesh. I can't hold down a job due to health reasons and you don't see me begging for money. Let alone under the guise of preaching. That's just sick.

My grandmother was poor, so poor as my dad put it "We didn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of"... might be a southern saying. But, she would always donate what little bit of money she had to those slick TV preachers.

He's taking advantage of people in every way possible. Emotionally, financially.... he's preying on them... the fact they can't see it makes me sad but he just makes me want to vomit in rage.

After seeing dprjones' video, I really think he should be reported to the police. let them handle it. at this point, he might just get away with a warning and a small fine, but if we wait, it'll only get worse for him. having an experience with the police would hopefully make him think once before doing anything.

Please tell me I'm not the only one that found him apologising to the internet almost pleasurably orgasmic to watch.

But yes, pathetic really doesn't begin to describe it. Surely he must be old enough by now to know what "legally accountable" means?

He's old enough to know it, but he's show an extensive lack of knowledge about any number of subjects he's old enough to know about.

The term "polydunce" comes to mind -- sort of like a polymath, but inept at every subject he turns his mind to.

Interestingly, different sites fight with different subsets of Darwinbashers. Ya'll are YouTube oriented -- over at Panda's Thumb they've never heard of VFX.

As I've said before, this third world war is fought on many places at once. an intellectual battle, often man to man. Most of us here focus on YouTube, trying to conquer that area before moving to the next. While the enemy is treacherous and uses vote-bots, flagging campaigns and other, we have a collective, capable of thinking for one-self and willing to jump into the breach when needed.

We are the moral law-enforcers, advising people like VFX not to cross the line and scam people. we threaten with legal actions, so that we won't have to take them. however, we must think about this a great deal: how do we want to fight this war? is it good to behead their sects by exposing their illegal actions to the authorities or should we peacefully tell them it's not a good idea to give money to fraudsters? some of us are in it for the laughs, others are in it to try, try and try again to make them "see the light".

will we stay legal advisers and teachers or will we also expose their lies to the law, so that justice may be served? But I guess that's up to the big guns of the pack. adults who know the law and can put it to good use.

I still say, let VFX be confronted with the law, if only to learn from it. I'd rather have an annoying retard, babbling all day, than a fraudulent retard, getting even richer of his flock of retards.

Well i suppose if you want Bible quotes to throw at him you could go with

Matthew 19:21
Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

Although there is a possibility he could just spin that and say he's poor.

EDIT: Oh, by the way, I only know that quote because my mom would always say it too me when I asked for money.

Wouldn't all these "donations" actually be personal income since he's not a church, charity, or a 501(c)3 non-profit?

Even if he gives that money to charity he'll have to report it on his income taxes. If he's in the 15% tax bracket it's donation x tax bracket = deduction. So if he's in the 15% tax bracket, donates $1000, he reduces his taxable income by $150. So for every $1000 he gets, even if he donates all of it, he's raised his personal income by $850 which he has to pay taxes on (assuming he's in the 15% bracket)!

As you can see, he can get himself into a ton of trouble if he's audited.

He's quickly on his way to going to jail for tax evasion just like his hero Hovind.

Sadly, it doesn't quite work like that.

If you make 1000 dollars and then donate 1000 dollars to a legal charity, you can deduct the amount of your donation directly from your income. So he would be able to claim he made $0.
Edit: Apparently you can only deduct a maximum of 50% of your gross income for donations, so he would have to claim that he made 500 actually, and still be taxed $75. Though the chances of him donating 50% are dang low, unless I miss my guess.

Your equation of 'donation x tax bracket = deduction' is how much you could deduct directly from the amount you owe. So if you made 1000 dollars you would owe $150, and if you then donated $500 you would deduct .15x500 ($75) and end up owing $75.

I don't understand why this guy fascinates people so much, part of his power is the way everyone talks about him. Wish we could all ignore him more. His followers think that we all rally against him because he makes us afraid or something. He's just not worth our time, seriously.

There's a percentage limit, isn't there? You can't write off your entire income.

I don't THINK so, but I'm not a tax genius or anything. I know for sure that you can donate at least 50% and its fully deductible straight from earnings.

Edit: 50% is apparently the max... I'll correct my above statement...
