What exactly do you mean? Afaik he just made a post there today...

Yeah, and he's gone already.

A blog response that also sums up my feelings regarding this whole debacle:
http://idebunkforme.wordpress.com/2012/06/29/a-message-to-thunderf00t/

For some reason, the YT vid linking to that blog post (it was there to do just that) has attracted a horde of people who are on the "omg, we're not misogynists! You should stop accusing people of being misogynists because X Y Z!" band wagon.
Should you choose to peruse the comment section, be careful: much shit was spouted.

The strange thing is that T-footie and his supporters are convinced not only that they're 110% correct, but that they represent some sort of One True Way for skepticism that critics are somehow screwing up. The thing is, I can go a million places and find people who disagree with T-footie and his crew, and very easily avoid the places that agree with them without even trying.

This is par for the course for him, I won't even read this. Back when I was still involved with things like this, I had some respect for him and then he slowly became more and more aggressive. I do not like someone calling themselves a militant atheist as a cover for them being assholes. I much prefer AW's way of handling things compared to tf00t.

I find peoples reactions to Thunderf00ts posts, and now probably to his expulsion, way more interesting than the posts themselves.

I must admit I did waste a little time glancing over the posts yesterday...

I like the graph he made especially. Asking the fan boys from his channel whether he is right or not...

I think his conclusion was slightly different from mine though;

Thunderf00t: this graph proves that I'm right.

Me: this graph proves that Thunderf00t fan boys are morons.

What?! I can't handle anything. I can't even handle my own coffee maker. The filter gets all gunked up and I forget to clean it. I'm a bad handler.

The Definition of Irony -
I found the League of Reason via thunderf00t's WDPLAC series.

And as time rolled on I found out that everyone here loathes him due to the fact that he's an arrogant asshole and a general twat that's playing ball outside of his own field.

Then I realized how much I was going to enjoy it here - they didn't even let other atheists above basic scrutiny.
I'M NOT ON A BANDWAGON. GAWD!

Came into work today after not checking the interwebz all weekend. Tf00t lost his blog, didn't see that coming.... ;)

Kind of funny, isn't it?

Of course, the best part is that TF is convinced that he's right and that the majority thinks he's awesome, even though so very many people know he's an arrogant prick. I guess basing your self-evaluations on total views on YT can do that to a person.

Here was his first article, feel free to comment on that: http://freethoughtblogs.com/thunderf00t/2012/06/25/misogynist/

I won't endorse or criticize it (yet), since I'm still a bit undecided on this whole thing. Never attended one of these conferences either and probably never will anyway.

But I would recommend to tone it down on this pointless diatribe, the entire thread lacks substance so far. (Reminds me a bit about the part where someone said that "conversation on YT rarely rises above bum level".)

EDIT: Weren't TF and PZ friends? Seems to me like it's just "amicable bickering" that some people blew out of proportion... bleh, who cares.

At least yours works. Mine spits out pale yellow water then dies for 4 days.

Yes they were friends - The question is, are they still?

My question is; who cares? Thunderf00t yet again throws his toys out the pram. This is not interesting or surprising.

arg-fallbackName="nudger1964"/>
I care because it is indicative of the mindset of those putting themselves up as the voice of freethought.
If pz and Tf are no longer on good terms, simply because of a disagreement - that speaks volumes.
I couldnt care less about thunderfoot, but the whole free thought blog movement stuff is really starting to grate.

You're actually seriously treading on the wrong ground here. "Simply because of a disagreement" is the single most popular way to troll over on Freethought Blogs, and it is deeply and profoundly dishonest. It strips the context and meaning away from the situation, and repaints it as a meaningless difference of opinion that doesn't merit strong feelings or deeper consideration of the core issues involved.

If I call your mum a pretty filthy name and describe her engaging in lewd conduct best left vague, and you get righteously pissed off and have the mods give me a two-week suspension... would you consider it fair for me to attack you for having me suspended "simply because of a disagreement" as though we were talking about sandwich fixings or sports teams instead of me attacking your mother?

arg-fallbackName="nudger1964"/>
dont worry, there is no chance me trolling on free thought blogs.
its nothing to do with whether any one was banned from a site. I dont care about that.
There is something rotten with the whole bunch of them. If you want to pick sides - good for you

Care to share what's rotten? Or is that yet another claim stripped of context and meaning, and you're trolling HERE?

Seriously, you're trolling. Look what you said: "If you want to pick sides - good for you" free of the relative merits of both sides, or if one side is the aggressor and the other is defending itself. Years and years and probably tens of thousands of posts and comments, reduced to your context-free, meaningless "picking sides" framing.

Why is there so much bickering, anyway?

And should we endeavour to minimize it since theists will use it as evidence against the skeptic community? (Although that line of evidence actually reveals the wholly emotional nature of their convictions, but they don't realize that, of course.)

Interestingly, the people who complain about the "bickering" and how it hurts the skeptical movement are the same people who claim that FtB is a hive-mind of people who never disagree... it can't fucking be both!
