Yeah, I heard about that and was surprised that they would have more than an infrequent adventure next season. Not too bothered, really. I think it's about time he had another alien companion.
My speculation on their arc is that the "secret" still harboured by Amy (I believe this was mentioned by Karen Gillan and others - it's probably connected to how Amy becomes a scent designer/model somehow, but I can't quite figure that one out) is intimately related to the question, the fields of Tranzalore and of course, the fall of the eleventh. I don't believe that the eleventh here refers to The Doctor. It's too much like a Moffat red herring.

Am I alone in thinking that the pilot saying "I'm sorry my love" must have been something important?

Personally, I don't think it's a reference to Mrs Doctor.

I just read something that tickled my absurd muscle (the dangly one under the armpit). What if we've misheard an important piece of dialogue in The wedding of River Song?

We think we heard:

Dorium: It's all still waiting for you. The fields of Trenzalor, the fall of the eleventh and the question.

but really, it was:

Dorium: It's all still waiting for you. The fields of Trenzalor, the falafel event and the question.

The ghost of Graham Chapman has been muttering in the ear of The Moff.

Matt Smith is pretty poor as the doctor IMO. None of the new doctors have been as awesome as Jon Pertwee.

And river song is like someone tried to build a robot to encapsulate the very concept of REALLY REALLY REALLY ANNOYING.

Bring back David Tennant :p

Smith is easily better than Ecclestone at least (and the evil that is Colin Baker), though I maintain that (personally) he is the best Doctor.
