Dune 2000 was fun, but blah, David Lynch material.

For the boardgame, think in magnitude of hours. Also, the more people the better. A two people game just isn't that much fun.
The thing is that each side (Atreides. Harkonnen, Fremen, Emperor, Guild, Bene Gesserit) has their own unique powers which makes for a very interesting dynamic.

Do you have Skype? We might be able to set up a game that way. And I can show you the ropes so you don't have to dig through the rulebook.

Definitely a fun game. I also highly suggest Carcassonne for anyone that likes Settlers of Catan.

It is fun, but not with 'the tower' expansion.

I don't really like the expansions for Cataan either. I guess I just prefer the vanilla versions of both board games.
