hope you dont think i'm nitpicking but army of darkness and last crusade was the third movie. maybe we should have a discussion for movies where the third in the series is better than the first lots of triologies nowadays. Army of darkness was awesome though sooo quotable. Now that i think about it Evil Dead 2 was better than the first and i did like amry of darkness better than the 2nd movie. awww whatever good choice

Nah, I understand your point... Return of the King is also a third, I didn't realize that we were only talking about 2nd movies in a series rather than just sequels - sequel to me just means any movie that follows the timeline of another movie, and doesn't pertain to only the second movie in a series.

I agree that Evil Dead 2 is also better than the original, but I listed Army of Darkness because it is clearly superior to both...

Ozymandyus your right "sequel" should mean any movie second third whatever. Bad Sequals are far too abundant for me to limit anyones suggestion of good ones. on that note i would like to say in my opinion that "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes" (4th in series)
and "Day of the Dead" (3rd) were better than the firsts
