Reviving the show.

Well, when I said video, I didn't really mean a screening audition. I was thinking people could just record their voice, maybe do some kind of fictional show. They could also just record some Skype convo they have with someone where they act as host.

Considering the low numbers of people actually here, I was just thinking that we probably don't have so many options anyway, and considering the effort required to make a video over joining a simple Skype call, it might be easier for all to just have a Skype conference call with all people interested in reviving the show. Maybe sometime either this weekend or next, perhaps.

all i can say is that blogTv is the "new" hot way to make a podcast.

The podcast could very well be broadcast on BlogTV. Possibly ahead of release on other formats like iTunes, YouTube etc (?)

Or were you thinking of actually recording it live? I think the main issue there is technical difficulties and it allows less room for mistakes and sidetracking.

not plans on recording yet, just my $0.02
im not that well known about the requirements to get the recording right. we all know how often things go wrong with the MSS *aron*cough*mic*cough

as for the pilot, here is a suggestion.
instead of keeping typing in the chat, why not go on skype and continue the discussion.
we could have a fun skype chat about camping's upcoming 3rd failure: predicting the end time, again.
as for what else comes up, lets just see where it goes.

'ang on. I'm confuzzled.
Whatever happens, Skype will probably be the format in which it is recorded. I think the MSS does just that. As did the original LoR show.
dprjones' 24 hour charity sessions are the only ones I know of that actually use BlogTV's somewhat limited features.

what about Mumble? Anyone looked at that yet? Been using it for a couple weeks and it's been pretty solid, and the host can record/stream.

Thoughts?

I didn't know Mumble could do that.
That might be very useful.

So nasher is organizing? PM'd.

Well, I'm trying to move things on at least, lest we lose momentum. :) If we fail to get this off the ground now, I'm inclined to think we'll never manage.

Added, btw.

If you need anything from me let me know, I shall attempt to provide. Not that you would, but, well, er...

Yeah.

Yeah.

Oi, we've got you on record as a possible source of jingles :p That will probably be very useful, since atm there is precisely nothing available on that front.

Dear Joe,

Please get drunk and take part on skype.

Regards,
LoR

Jesus... I guess I'm invited now.

Not until next week though. I have no money and no decent computer or Skype gear set up, and this computer barely handles surfing the web without locking up.

I propose a Skype call next Sunday (the 30th) at 21:00 GMT for brainstorming purposes.

Does this seem like a reasonable time to people?
If not, say so. This should include the maximum number of people reasonably possible, even if some people can only talk using the type chat function.

Also, I've been sent a couple of Skype names via PM. For simplicity I'll just put mine up here and in my sig. Feel free to add:

If there's an MSS show, I might want to watch that. Are there any problems with a 1900 GMT call? Hm, might conflict with the US lunch schedule... :p

Guilty of kidnapping, murder, and jaywalking?

and I'm good any time, Sundays are great for me. I'll join in, whatever's needed. :)

Okies, I've made another thread for the Skype call. :)

Prolescum a couple of days ago brought up the idea of having two hosts, allowing them to bounce off each other, keep it flowing, make less reliant on one person's initiative. And at the same time it might enable easier host rotation.
Which seems a reasonable idea. Le thoughts?

Possibly a host who doesn't know about the subject that's being discussed. That way if he/she gets it, the audience might just get it too!

How about a rude, acerbic host, with a semi-psychotic demeanour, that will quite often divert the show into surreal idiocy, and total filth?

Well that's already half of us, isn't it?

Officially it's only three of us.
