Is creationism being forgotten?

arg-fallbackName="Squawk"/>
I think the oft quoted figure is 44% creotard in the USA, though I'm still of the opinion that many people will answer "creationist" in a poll if they are present with creationist friends and don't wish to rock the boat. That pure speculation on my part, though.

I can assure you here in the U.S. south, that fundamentalism is the majority here, and I wouldn't even say creationism, because I don't think that much thought has been given to the subject. For the people here the bible is their history book, period. I'm completely alone here, although I recently found an atheist group with about 20 members i've joined, so that's reassuring. I want to move to Sweden or Norway so bad. I need to learn the languages. Screw this place.

Mostly I only found out about it over the internet. Though I did notice some people were more religious than others, and that the more religious people had even more stupid ideas.

I think fundamentalism of many sorts is on the decline...I'm gonna go look up some statistics to confirm.

Nah, just come to the UK! Religion means tea-drinking vicars and if you're anything more than that, you're taking it too seriously :)

Just about everyone there knows English, so just move on over right away.

If you need more incentive, I hear the women like someone with a cool foreign accent. ;)

No one is completely alone, unless he shuts himself away from everyone or everything. Maybe, in your case, you chose to be intolerant of your creationist/theist neighbors. Living a life like that will be difficult. Then again, if you're able to move away to a place where there is more like minded persons, it'll be better. The question is, do you have the money, a place to stay, and a means of finding work and support yourself? If not, then you'll have no choice but to tolerate them for awhile. Who knows, they may grow on you. ^^

I was being a little hyperbolic there, There are a few people i can tolerate here, plus I have an outlet on youtube. The people here actually get a kick out of learning I am an atheist. It gives me good reason to share my worldview to those who are not like minded. Most of the time they think they outsmart you on really tired arguments. (the brightest of the bunch so far brought up Pascal's wager). But in truthiness, I consider one or two of them friends, and we tolerate for the most part each others' different views.

Creationism has not been and is not being forgotten. Though arguably its credibility has suffered some resounding blows over the past half decade and will probably get worse before it gets better.
