In a bit of a jam here...

arg-fallbackName="Story"/>
Inferno behave!

WarK I really really do feel the difference. It's just incredible. A few things have happened that have infringed on that a little bit. I called my mom to tell her I was safe (She was really worried) and after she got my number she gave it to a few Muslims here who want to meet up with me. One of them is my brother who cares about me a whole lot, but is very radically Muslim. I have a few ways to avoid meeting up with these people though, so don't worry too much about that. The feeling of just being able to open up to people about my actual beliefs and perspectives is amazingly joyous. I actually feel like I've taken my first breath of freedom after years of imprisonment; mental imprisonment.

Thanks everyone for your support, help and the gift that atheism is to me.

Well, Story, be careful. Moving to England won't necessarily put you out of reach of people harassing you. Be especially reluctant to return to your home country. There have been murders.

The issue here is danger.

What do you suggest as a solution besides being careful?

Yeah... I am being careful in that regard to things like this happening. I do still have family here that are Muslim, but most of them are Christian. My sister is sort of irreligious deistic, which is good because I can tell her my thoughts without feeling like I'm offending her, but yes... other than that I am steering clear of my Muslim kin.

In other news, I tried pork this morning!

You'd never had pork before?
I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised, but...

Go to the shop.
Buy bacon, gammon, barbecue spare ribs, pork chop, pork fillet and sausages.
Feast on pig flesh for three days.
Become addicted.
Die of heart disease.

The last two are optional.

Bacon by itself is pretty good... But it really shines when you use it to enhance other flavors... For instance if you quarter figs half way down (so it's still in tact, but can act kind of like a bowl), put some goat cheese (I think cream cheese would also work) in it, and then wrap the whole thing in some bacon and bake it (I can't remember if you cook the bacon first or not) until the fig starts to caramelize. Then eat it and be amazed.

What a delicious animal, no? Do they have a Famous Dave's barbecue joint in the UK? Actually, forget Dave's, I wish I could treat you to some authentic Mexican pork (adovada) tacos....They are the edible delight of my life. Oh, you also need to try some carnitas and chicharrones......ohhhh I'm so hungry! Mexico really does pork right.

Things have got a bit weird for me now. I've found a few places that I'd like to stay at, but they're asking me for references and bank statements. Both being things I don't have... I'm not sure how to get around that, but I really need a place to just set up my equipment and stay at.

Any ideas...

On a brighter note. I just had my first bacon sandwich (slightly different than just pork sausages, but still delicious).

I also had 3 heinekens and a gin & tonic during my flight in and 2 and a half pints of fosters on St. Patrick's day.

I'd suggest getting in contact with the department for work and pensions, or the Job Centre. They'll have your national insurance details and might be able to help you out.

Good work with the bacon, too.

Don't know if it helps, but 'Shelter' is a British organisation focussed on things like homelessness prevention and such. They have some good information on their website and if I recall correctly some of it also involves how to manage problems like not having bank accounts and stuff.
