You not only left the church, but also joined another organization. If this makes you happy, then I affirm your decision. But, I'm curious. What's the benefit of joining an organization?

I dont know about Denmark, but in Norway the church has the audacity to re-enlist you when you move without notifying you (they do other tricks too, to get you back on that list), and thus gaining more financial aid through taxes. They will not do this however, if you are a member of a different "faith"-based organization. So those of us who wish to avoid the grasp of the church, join the humanists or other similar organizations.

I see. If the church does that, then it is safer to join.

I got a new birth certificate with the mail few days ago, so which says that I have left the church, so they cannot re-enlist me. :) Unless I return to the flock :D

Don't do this again. I'm quite serious.

Some atheists, like some everything/whatever are herd animals, but Tylzen? Pick your marks better, mate

Organisations that are specifically atheist (not to be confused with explicitly atheist) do seem a little redundant to me, however, but I tend not to judge people on their spending habits.

You don't have to be solitary to be an atheist. If scientists get together and form an exclusive club for fellow scientists to join, does science become a religion? Wth!

Nothing wrong with joining another organization.

Human beings are, for the most part, social animals. So it's only "natural" to want to be part of something like an organization.
