I was not convinced by atheists to be one, quite the contrary, I was convinced by christians not to be one of them.
And it is a bit puzzling to me that people try to pass on this "the right form of christianity" thing, because every form of christianity can only supousedly trace their doctrine back to the "Jesus" by the verses in the bible (and not outside of it). If your doctrine doesn't follow acording to the bible (which none does) then either the authors of the bible made severe mistakes (which would taint even further the reliability of it) or someone down the line pulled that doctrine out of the ass. In either case the doctrine is surely not correct. Inregards there are more than critical mistakes (even if ignoring all the small mistakes) that could easily dismiss the bible as a primitive work of fiction thus falsifying the religion based on it. If you discredit the bible, then you have severed the link to anything based upon it and once again making the religion based on it completly unjustified.
You can do apologetics all you like for the end of your life (curiously apologetics means making excuses), there is just no way arround that problem. This is one of the problems that I needed to solve in order to save my faith.
I know you are going to say "oh but religion spread to hear say and that is another trace".... well I already taught about that shit and many other "possible solutions", it doesn't work because you have several other mutualy exclusive religions doing the same crap and it dangles upon the reliability of hear say, i.e. none. To say that all other religions got their story from a compound of embelishments of an original fictious story and christianity didn't is just special pleeding. So you can forget that to.
