Deconverts only talk to non-believers?

I was not convinced by atheists to be one, quite the contrary, I was convinced by christians not to be one of them.

And it is a bit puzzling to me that people try to pass on this "the right form of christianity" thing, because every form of christianity can only supousedly trace their doctrine back to the "Jesus" by the verses in the bible (and not outside of it). If your doctrine doesn't follow acording to the bible (which none does) then either the authors of the bible made severe mistakes (which would taint even further the reliability of it) or someone down the line pulled that doctrine out of the ass. In either case the doctrine is surely not correct. Inregards there are more than critical mistakes (even if ignoring all the small mistakes) that could easily dismiss the bible as a primitive work of fiction thus falsifying the religion based on it. If you discredit the bible, then you have severed the link to anything based upon it and once again making the religion based on it completly unjustified.

You can do apologetics all you like for the end of your life (curiously apologetics means making excuses), there is just no way arround that problem. This is one of the problems that I needed to solve in order to save my faith.
I know you are going to say "oh but religion spread to hear say and that is another trace".... well I already taught about that shit and many other "possible solutions", it doesn't work because you have several other mutualy exclusive religions doing the same crap and it dangles upon the reliability of hear say, i.e. none. To say that all other religions got their story from a compound of embelishments of an original fictious story and christianity didn't is just special pleeding. So you can forget that to.

For example, as a historian, I tend to believe in the deluge theory, and I was offended and insulted by atheists, who wanted me to believe in "the global flood" because they wanted to ask me about the Kangaroos!

It is therefore true, the main method used by atheists, is the lack of honesty, and misinterpretation, and
they do it intentionally!

I want some clairification about something.

Generaly speaking VyckRo we usualy encounter One specific type of Christian.
these Are YECs, Young Earth Creationist. People who think the world is 6000 years old, reject
contemporary biology, Geology and Cosmology
and think that the the entire world flooded, or is even capable of being flooded.

These Views are not defensible.

If you don`t share these views, then say so.
I`d be inclined to give you slightly more respect if you clairifed what your specific beliefs are
and how they contrast to the "YEC" standard.

The Reason i became an atheist had nothing to do with talking to atheists.
The Abandonment of religion for stemmed directly from Strong pseudo-scientific views
shared among the religious community in this area.
from highschool onward, my peers consistently demonstrated Strange, backwards beliefs regarding
Evolution, cosmology, geology and many other things.

For example through grades 9 to 12 i had peers whom geniunely believed Fossils were created
by devil worshiping scientists.
They were also hopelessly supersititious, believing in everything from Ghosts to demons.
One of those i considered to be my friend eventualy started a campagin of aggresive
Conversion. He had me come with him to Bible studies, Church sermons and other religious
activities in a attempt to convert me... Even though at the time i already considered myself a christian.
The Final Straw came when i went to another bible study with him and his pastor
tried to explain how skeptisim is bad and unthinking faith "guiliability" is good.
Immediately after this he began explaining how Homosexual people are possessed by demons.
I heard allot of things Against evolution at this point and i decided maybe i shouldent be consorting with
these individuals anymore.

Later on i tried learning more about the contents of the bible and
discovered how abhorrent it is. i tried turning to other things but i kept
seeing similar problems.

I never even encountered anyone who called themself an Atheist until
i discovered youtube, Nor did i consider myself one until that point. Though i still technicaly qualfied because
i stopped believing.

The funy thing is, it was my honest attempt to find a more pure form of God that made me realise that there was none.

That pretty much sums up my deconversion. I spent 12 years in Catholic school and became an atheist by the time I left. The only thing that atheists did for me during my deconversion was to bring up the standards of truth that I already knew and apply it to Christianity in a way that I hadn't. Apologetics didn't offer anything substantial so eventually I couldn't stand the cognitive dissonance anymore and deconverted.
