It's unclear to me (and would only be clarified in court, most likely) how the "conflict of laws" issues would be resolved if in fact single-party consent is legal where QDragon resides. How a legal act in the active party's home enters US jurisdiction is unclear to me and would be very costly...
Has anyone organized book burnings of Alice in Wonderland? There was a period in the late '70s and maybe early '80s when a lot of character assassination was being done (in lit crit circles) about Lewis Carroll. But to my knowledge, in both these cases the details and compelling evidence that...
Care to be a little more specific?
I'd tend to think the Americans are a little more entertaining and feel free from much need to make sense much of the time, but I'm sure that's partly because I grew up in America and have seen a much wider range of its Theist variations.
There are...
Why on earth would I want a fair fight? Whenever possible I try to face my enemies with overwhelming numbers, superior weaponry and armor... and lots of artillery. Fair fights are for Custer. Only my relatively spastic control of the mouse tends to contribute to less than ideal casualty...
I never said he was either ignorant or stupid (okay, I may have been typing too fast when I chose the word "ignorant" to describe his relationship to Hebrew, but I was shorthanding what I recalled of scholars who contend that there's little evidence that he all that was well-versed in it, and...
Given the verbal dysfluency, one or more strokes are most likely, though I wouldn't rule out schizophrenia. I'm basing the stroke guess in part on the fact that he seems to have a grasp on scientific terminology and his concepts almost valid, suggesting he did have some formal education. If he...
Not that the true believers will find this at all interesting, but within Bible scholarship circles there is a near concensus that Jerome, the translator responsible for the (Latin) Vulgate, upon which most bibles up to and including the KJV are largely based... that Jerome was himself probably...
Same here. I run into far more hard core Bible literalists whose only acceptable translation is the KJV. Not to say there are no literalists who reject it as well.
There are several series of books that offer project ideas as well, if you can find copies in time.
One of my favorites includes titles such as Electronic Gadgets for the Evil Genius. You can find many, many more in this series at Amazon.
In fact, glancing at the book descriptions alone may...
But in the meantime I made this very short video instead:
I really wish that player could adjust for aspect ratio. You should really look at the video in all its HD/HQ glory if you can.
Also, anyone interesting in working on a script for the biopic?
Tell me this bio doesn't spell boffo box...
Checked out one of your videos there. Coolness.
Question: is there some trick on filmrookie to getting audio to encode? Does one need to upload audio tracks separate from the video or did I just get unlucky on my first upload there?
They do have a cool solution to the whole copyright and...
The key is to pick something you're very interested in (and given the timing, probably something in the area where you feel you're strongest).
One suggestion, though: avoid trying to teach earthworms anything. They're really bad at running mazes. Even really simple ones. You'll be lucky to...
You can, in fact, avoid the RTS component completely if you choose to (and in fact there's no RTS for the naval battle elements, only for land battles and end-stage sieges) -- plus there is a pause button, as well as considerable AI if you don't like RTS and are willing to allow the AI to do...
Sounds like communication to me. Plus, if they could, then you could boost the overall chance of success to 1/2, rather than 5/12.
If Player 1 finds his name in the pre-agreed set (p=0.5) all he needs to do is pick as Player 2 the owner of the other coffin with the understanding that Player 2...
I'm not sure I'm following you. If Player 1 fails the game is over and all subsequent choices are meaningless. The strategy I'm looking for would be one that eliminates strategies that have no possibility of success... for instance, if all players choose to search the set [1,2], there's a...
For some reason my previous reply failed to post.
Wanted to clarify: is 5/12 the odds for the 4-person game, the 100-person game or both? From context I'm assuming you meant the 4 person-game, since there are 6 possible sets of 2 choices available to each player. That is:
[1,2] [3,4]...
Just ran into an oddity in this thread:

At least for me the thread is only visible from Brunks' message onward, specifically the message that says:
Thought someone might want to know.
