Your questions please...

Hello,

Those of you who pay attention to such matters will notice that I haven't written anything on the blog for some time. This is essentially because I have no ideas whatsoever.

So I've decided what I'd do is ask you kind folks to submit questions that might trigger me into writing something interesting again.

Of course they need to be in line with the main theme of this site, so 'what do you think of Justin Beiber?' is out of the question (although I'm sure you'd all love to know).

I shall then use my mighty powers of discretion to answer the questions that appear most inspirational or interesting to me in a blog post (or series of blog posts) on that theme.

I probably won't do personal questions cause I don't like to talk about myself too much. I'm thinking along the lines of questions about what my views on a certain topic are, and then I can do some research and cobble something together that hopefully you will be interested in reading.

Fire away...

Cheers

Laurens

I apologise if this topic has been written in a blog post before, because if so I am unaware, however my question is: what is this geologic column I have heard often mentioned in passing in evolution debates and what have we learned from it?

I am by no means an expert on the subject, but I can try to explain it as best I can, at least in a form that can be used to argue against creationists (rather than an article aimed at making you a complete expert on the subject). I could provide any links I find along the way.

Thanks for the suggestion, I shall see what I can come up with.

I'd like to read your take on politics. I know practically nothing about that side of you. Whether you have party loyalties (and why), what your experiences have taught you, that sort of thing.

This will be tough for me to put into words, but I shall try my best. It would definitely be interesting for me to write, as I don't often put my political views into writing. I will see what I can come up with.

I used to record my essay ideas on Astrid which is now going away. I'll put them here since I'm writing other things at the moment. If they spark anything or you want to just take over a topic, feel free.

Treating mental health like physical health
The harm of economic inequality
God, the ultimate mob boss
Benefits of affirmative action
The precautionary principle
Principle of charity
Motivational strategies

Cheers for the suggestions. I feel drawn to 'God, the ultimate mob boss' for some reason... Maybe I will give that a whirl.

Prolescum, I've written a piece on some aspects of my political views, and it's now pending review, so you should get to read it soon.
