This is something about Young Earth Creationists that just mystifies me. In order for their story to work, their god must, by definition be a cruel practical jokester. God changed the speed of light, placed fossils in an ordered, stratified position, and fakes radiometric data, all so scientists believe the lie. Or, at the very least, he allows Satan to do those things. What does this say about their god? That he is a cruel being who intentionally misleads those on an honest quest for knowledge. That he only seeks followers who possess the most slavish mind-set, and are willing to ignore evidence to the contrary. That he is intentionally setting up his own creations for a life-time of hell with a false trail. Even if such a being did exist, why on earth would it be worthy of worship?
