Actually, I quite like ATS.
Yes, the website is certainly filled to the brim with conspiracy talk, and the intent of the place is to be a haven for psuedoscience and cons - however, there is a strong community of ex-military, current military and ex-intelligence agents on it that do regularly rip apart the ridiculous stories that are spun there. If you check out the 9/11 forum, for example, you may see that it's been largely hijacked (har har) by a handful of military aviation enthusiasts and pilots who point out the obvious errors in the conspiracy 'model'.
For all their mindlessness, the moderators at ATS never censor the rational people that reside there, and I find that somewhat commendable (in comparison to what you find at, say, most Christian forums) - though, to be fair, some forums are still full of enough nutters that any skeptic who tries to ask for evidence is simply shouted down.
