Why are Lawyers politicians?

This is something I have always found rather odd. Why do politicians often have a degree in law. It seems to me that people with degrees in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, and Economics are the ones who would best understand how the law should be. As apposed to people who study the law as it is. I'm not saying lawyers are the worst choice ever, I'm just saying doesn't seem like that the people listed above would be bettered qualified. Assuming they have enough law training as well. Let me know.

But you would also be a sucessfull in acomodating new laws whit current laws if you don't know the law from inside out.
This is one of those cases that are best delt whit a double degree.

I think it has more to do with the fact that on a local and state level, district attorneys and judges get elected. It is a good proving ground to see if someone can run and win a campaign, which is probably why the parties have drafted so many lawyers to run for higher office. Once that became a known method of entering politics, it probably attracted potential politicians to get law degrees.

A lawyer manipulates the jury, a politician manipulates the masses.

It's also interesting to note that many apologists have law degrees...

Yeah, but you say that like it's a bad thing.
It can be. Ideally, a lawyer would simply inform a jury and his only goal would be justice, but many times they manipulate their emotions to achieve an unjust goal.

... or to make sure that they achieve a just goal. Lawyers are always evil until they are YOUR lawyer, aren't they? ;)

Then they're a necessary evil ;)

Think about it: your job is helping people understand the law, or even understanding it for them. The more laws there are and the more lengthy and confusing they are, the more work there is for you to do and the more you can charge your clients.

I only wish I could do that in my business!
