Just recently, I got an eye opener.
Long story short is, I made a rudish comment on a fellow atheist's video, one of his viewers replied to it in the same time-frame that the uploader did, so I was unable to see the original reply to me, only the reply by the uploader in my notification inbox.
I misread the comment, created a "model" in my mind and reacted in the improper manner, I replied in anger (an emotion I'm NOT used to experiencing) a replied to the uploader in an snarky manner. The uploader and I had a brief flame war and I was blocked.
Moral of the short version of the story is that when confronting theists, their emotions may get in the way of seeing the reality of the situation and those emotions can and will influence the productivity of your conversation. Make efforts to be exceptionally polite and patient and you just may be able to cut through the crap.
I feel like an ass now for not checking into the true nature of things and for letting myself get miffed. I'm going to make (another) sock account, send this dude a link to the post and tell him that I oopsed.
He still blocked me early though...the jerk
