What is this, amateur hour?

Clips of The View are a guilty pleasure for me

As usual Elizabeth gets it dead wrong, and Sherri is basically inarticulate on the subject. The others are correct but for the wrong reasons, or they keep getting interrupted. At one point they all suggest that when a student raises their hand, it makes it worse for the teacher to answer. What?

I do not know everyone's name, but given the context I presume the oldest lady on the right is Sherri and Elizabeth is the blond to her right? If so, Elizabeth, like you said, is always fucking DUMB. This episode kind of puts it in perspective for me: On pretty much every subject, they are just unqualified and too ignorant to talk about it. Yet, they strive on with confidence.

It kind of makes me question the validity of these people's opinions, kind of like Hannity and Colmes. I am quite certain that Hannity is just a dumb fuck like O'Reilly and Beck and Colmes was just put on there as a scripted weapon to make liberals look all like weasels and evil and shit.

Well you got Elizabeth right, sorry should have made it clearer.

Embarrassing, but from left to right; Whoopi, Joy, Sherri, Elizabeth, Barbara.

When are they ever going to stop parroting that "both sides" thing? It's freaking pissing me off.

And since when are teachers not allowed to voice opinions to students when they're ASKED a question? That's ludicrous. Teachers should not be allowed to teach things purely based on their opinion, yes, but if a student prompts them for their opinion, why the hell not?

Well, in that case, Barbara is the inarticulate one and Sherri is just trying to fight Elizabeth for the stupidity award of the day.

No, why should I know who she is?

Exactly, dude. If they wanted to have a logical and systematic approach to considering the both sides, it would ultimately lead to the fact that one side is science and valid, the other is superstition and does not apply to everyone.

Exactly again. If they ask for an opinion, they get it. Also, I am quite sure they take this out of context for the teacher probably explains to the little prick why religion is dumb. Besides, it is not an opinion that a creationist and religious belief contradicts itself when contrasted between any other creationist or religious belief. All the teacher was probably doing was pointing out this obvious fact and the little fucker told his mom and the mommy yelled and cried about the teacher being dark sided.
Exactly

She's one of the more famous reporters in America. Granted she's not as big as she used to be since she's slowed down with age but still... Chick has been around forever. I respect her but do agree she was a bit muddled.

I can't believe Woopi was for teaching both sides.

We don't teach flat earth so why the fuck would be teach creationism?

Here's a better summary of what happened from Ed Brayton.

I think Whoopi was advocating teaching evolution if Sherri was going to teach her kids creationism, ends up the kid gets both sides but not from the school.

Well that's kind of a major point, mainly due to Intelligent Design advocates and the Discovery Institute, as well as countless other fuckers like Ben Stein and Fox News just to name a few: Creating doubt of evolutions stability and validity is the ultimate weapon they have created. It has become almost common knowledge that evolution is just as plausible as creationism and both should be inquired about and respected equally. I mean, sure, like you said, it does not make sense, but the people advocating that it does all know that creating doubt in the populations mind is all they need to do.

Holy balls. See, if I were ever a teacher, I would stick to university where I could get away with it, or just be more subtle about it.

^Cool, Dispatches is one of my favourite blogs glad to introduce someone else to it :D

Considering Sherri's earlier views on the world geometrical proportions, this recent spectacle practically makes her Stephen Hawking.

Joy was great as always.

What a bunch of crap. I don't think he showed any religious hostility; all he just did was criticize the Bible; which is allowed under the first ammendment giving people the ability to criticize others religions or philosophical belief. If you cannot handle the ability of criticizm then you have no right to open your mouth in advocation of free speech.

And besides, the teacher was not a representative of government; teacher's are exempt from such statutes when giving opinions of religion. Only when they teach religion may they get into trouble. They are perfectly allowed to give comments on religion. This is why I believe religion will eventually go the way of the way of the god's of old.

I think it's bullshit that people want creationism taught in schools, just because evolution is taught. Evolution isn't a religion, it's a scientific theory that happens to be contradictory with creationism. If you want to teach religion, have your child go to a church, that's what it's for.

Sadly, evolution is not the only science contradictory of religion and or creationism. They need to be consistent with their attempts and attack not only evolution but geology, paleontology, astronomy, physics, mathematics, etc. Actually, they need to attack all of science to be consistent.

'prohibits government employees from showing religious hostiliies'

Where's that?! I can't find it in my Constitution...

'no question is too dumb'

That's just not true

WTF is 'darwinism'? I[m aware of no such religion or theory

Did that idiot just compare telling a student they're wrong to sexual harassment?

Then she complains that a student 'snitched' on her...

Agreed. Who comes up with the idea that the theory of evolution constitutes religious beliefs? And on top of that, why do people call Atheism a religion? I don't worship anything, Atheism is a state of being (intelligent), not a belief system. I try my goddamn hardest not to have "faith" in anything. I think, and that is all.

EDIT: When I tell someone that I'm not Christian, and they respond with "Well, what do you believe?" I simply reply, "I don't."
