like it or not, they exist within this langauge. If they do not exist elsewhere, that is simply a limitation of said langauges capacity
to express things.
Atheism does not stem from "Teos" it stems from "theos" It is a general useage term which applies to any deities, not
merely yahweh, for example it could also apply to Ashera whom Once upon a time was Yahwehs wife within the Henotheistic
pantheon of ancient israel.
Infact Atheos IS a greek word in of itself.
Like it or not This langauge Has negative prefixes.
such as Atypical "not typical" or Asymmetrical "not symmetrical" or Atheism "not theism"
We also have Other prefixes such as "non" which are similar.
If atheism means Non-theism it may well mean "a negative belief!"
That is really atheism, in accordance with the dictionary definition, from in most countries. Therefore, the term "lack of faith" can not define atheism, because this term is a privilege of the English language.
So you highlight the part about the Greek root word for atheism that clarifies its definition, but then turn around and call that very definition a "privilege of the English language"? Make up your mind. It's clearly demonstrated now that atheism means what it means down to its Greek root and you have no other logical option than to accept that truth....but I would bet money on you choosing the illogical path instead.
