I think this video sums up the notion of 2012 being the end of the world quite nicely...

As I said before, I am just as appalled as you are by this, and like you I believe this to be crap in its purest form. I just thought it would be fun to hear what people thought about it :)

Ah, sorry. I wasn't sure if you were genuinely interested in the theories, from your wording.

My bad.

I don't know if this is the right place to talk about it but....

what about the world ending in 2012? I was watching this show on the discovery channel last night and apparently all "experts" agree: get ready 'cause 3 years from now we will be no more.
They even have a supercomputer (that apparently predicted 9/11 3 months before it happened) that predicted that the Mayans were right: no point in extending the calendar past 2012, we'll all be dead by then.

Your thoughts?

I do believe their is a legitimate amount of evidence and very much suspicion about the US doing 9/11 mainly do to the false flagged wars in the passed and the government attempted bombing of thw WTC in 1992 (or was that 1993?)

The thing is however is that most people were surprised and were grouped up into a mob mentality of fear, by 2005 it started to wear off. However I do think the reason most people do not think that 9/11 was done by our government honestly do not want to believe that they could be so cruel and heartless. Their are some people who give off conclusions saying "Everyone would have to be in it" as if that really makes a point. You don't have to do that, just make a specific image of the person, call them a conspiracy theorists and the media along with the group mob mentality will do the rest.

I think the real conspiracy nuts are those that believe that bullshit claim about the death ray from outer space controlled by lizard people that brought down the WTC towers.

In all honesty; their is to much bullshit going on with the actual story, not to mention the lack of mentioning of WTC7 in the official report.

2012 is complete bullshit. It is only the ending of the Mayan calendar where we must adopt a new calandar.

There are two "official" reports. The 9/11 Commission Report and the National Institute for Science and Technology's investigation. You are correct in saying that the 9/11 Commission Report doesn't mention WTC7. But it seems that you've failed to recognize the purpose of the Commission Report. Here is an exerpt from the preface:
The law directed us to investigate "facts and
circumstances relating to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001," including
those relating to intelligence agencies, law enforcement agencies, diplomacy,
immigration issues and border control, the flow of assets to terrorist
organizations, commercial aviation, the role of congressional oversight and
resource allocation, and other areas determined relevant by the Commission.
So the Commission Report was never suppose to investigate the science behind the various collapses that occurred that day. They were specifically dealing with how the terrorists organized the attacks, how they went unnoticed, and how we can prevent against it in the future.

The NIST investigation, on the other hand, does investigate the science and it speaks about WTC7's collapse in great detail. I suggest you read it and increase your understanding of these subjects before forming conclusions about them.

the whole 2012 thing is something I don't know a lot about. I don't have a TV and I don't frequent conspiracy sites...

My response to it being brought up by people is generally to call them assholes for not only misinterpreting the end of the calendar (I mean really, our calendar ends every year..) but also for believing in the Mayan end times even though they're unwilling to believe any of the other random Mayan mythology out there.

If I meet someone who not only believes the world will end in 2012 but also believes in Kukulcan (a Mayan god) I at least won't have to hate them *quite* as much. What's with deciding other random religions are right, but only about when the world is ending?

Is that the same NIST that admitted to Free Fall, gave the report that the twin towers fell at 10 seconds (which is not how the fall worked) and did a sloppy job at not even giving the information about how the buildings were held together by inner steel workings along with the fact they publicly admitted to fraudulently putting data that did not fit with their investigation and fired numerous NIST scientists because of their inquiry to the investigation of the scientific research?

We are talking about the same NIST are we not? (And yes however NIST only added Building 7 later in their investigation after videos about it went completely viral).

Apparantly not. You're talking about an imaginary NIST constructed out of quote mines and misinterpreted pieces of information by so-called "truthers" with a track record of deliberately misleading the public.

I'm talking about the NIST that submitted its WTC7 findings when the investigation of it was completed (which happened to be after the investigations of the main towers and the Pentagon had already been completed.) I'm talking about the the NIST that admitted to a momentary freefall of WTC7 that occurred after the collapse of the east penthouses (The total collapse took more than 12 seconds. Time it yourself.) I'm talking about the NIST that corrected a part of its investigation that had been based on incomplete (and inaccurate) data. We are not talking about the same NIST.

Well I did read the official report when it was released so if it was updated with new information could you link it to me?

I don't know about any of you, but on January 1st, 2013, I plan on doing what I did on January 1st, 2000. Laughing my ass off.

I'll probably do what I did on January 1st, 2000 too; complain about a major hangover!

If think this whole "2012 exitus" topic is just to create fear or better keep you in a state of fear. Next to the war on Error. It,´s psycological warfare.
Just an armageddon substitute for esoterics.

Who is doing it? The evil bankers you are so afraid of?

You know, I watch these conspiracy things 'cos they make me laugh so hard.

I'm particularily looking forward to 2012 because something will happen, and I know that for a fact (unless I'm not alive at that point). I have heard arguments that nothing will happen, but that's just sheer craziness, because if I'm alive I know I'll be doing stuff as will everyone else. I prefer to just bamboozle with absolute tosh, go along with the silliness of it all, if you know what I mean.

If you even pipe up once that it's all bullshit, you become a known 'paid shill' for whatever evil organisation they are having a go at. I think they're mostly just frustrated at life or having a laugh. The ones who truly believe it all, well, the less said about them the better. ;)

But we are doomed, that's finite lifespans for you.

And December the 23rd, 2012 is just one of those dates that seem to have a lot of coincidAnce surrounding them, when it passes and we haven't been destroyed by Planet X, the NWO, Shape-shifting Lizards, Armageddon, etc., etc., I'm sure there'll be a good reason; the timeline is out by 7 years or something. It's endless, a lot of it is fed into by the deeply religious, and those people are really quite scary.

Yep, you,´re from the US? Then prepare for another major fisting campaing as commercial real estates come crashing down this summer. OOOPS! Of course all of a sudden.
BTW the big bosses deceided NOT to take action on regulating derivates trades as the need them to further destroy YOUR retirement provisions. I bet you actually believe that current debt levels can sustain for another 20yrs or so without having serious consequences on your purchasing power.

La Rouche&Co served their role. Every "educated" source laughs at them because he has been preaching "the end is near!" for a little too long.
The system survives no question about that. The more interesting question is how much will you own afterwards.
After the € was introduced we expirienced a rather modest inflaton of roughly 40% in ten yrs.

But economy is a difficult and rather cumbersome topic where "qui bono?" doesn,´t mean anything but being a loony.

I'm betting that same computer which predicted all of that shit that people said it did after it already happened is going to become self aware and super-humanly intelligent, sparking a technological singularity. I'm just gonna make sure to download my brain into a bunch of nanobots so I can fly off into space before it all goes down.
