Question: is there some trick on filmrookie to getting audio to encode? Does one need to upload audio tracks separate from the video or did I just get unlucky on my first upload there?

They do have a cool solution to the whole copyright and DMCA issue, but anyone joining there should probably make sure they agree with the Terms of Service.
