UK Riots - Darcus Howe

Regardless of your views on politics, this is worth seeing. As it says in the title to the video, the BBC will NEVER replay this. Get the word out.
I first noticed this in The Amazing Atheist's favourite videos list.

From the video description:
"Darcus Howe, a West Indian Writer and Broadcaster with a voice about the riots. Speaking about the mistreatment of youths by police leading to an up-roar and the ignorance of both police and the governement. Intelligent black male. SEND THIS TO EVERYONE!

(Also, did anyone notice that the interviewer tried to make him ignorant... Complete back-fire I must say)"

This has serious political relevance. :!: I'd recommend anyone on youtube to mirror this before it gets swiped off by the BBC on frivolous grounds. Shocking, I must say. :|

Are you suggesting that the BBC would suppress this because Darcus Howe points out that the newsreader is an idiot or that his views on the riots are specific?

Serious political relevance? In what way? Why is it shocking? Darcus Howe regularly discusses this very topic on television and elsewhere.

Now, I agree with him that people over the world are beginning to take action on their own terms and that specifically black people in the UK are treated unfairly by the police; these are not new revelations nor ones that receive no attention in the press.

What exactly are you trying to say? What word should one "get out"?

The BBC apologised for the newsreader's comments towards whatshisface.

Also, regarding the diversity of the looters and arsonists I'd say that the major factor in causing the riots was opportunism, not 'how the police treat youths'. Though, naturally there are going to be a lot of specific reasons for specific people.

Yes, it seems the consensus is that the looters et al had reasons of their own (including opportunism); no single motivation seems evident.

I'd still quite like Dean to explain the points noted in my earliest post...
