Tired of "snow news" in UK?

My mate Marc just sent me a brilliant text message:

"It's not news,...it's snow!?! Snow,...yes it's snowing. I may as well write "it's snowing" on a post-it-note, and stick it to the tv.....Then I could look at it every now and again and say..."yup,...it's snowing. It says so on the telly....""

Well, here in Germany, we've been scared with dreads of horrible snow-storms today over the last week.
Well, hardly 10 cm and NO problem at all.
That's what they used to call "winter" when I was a kid...

"Tonight, snowstorms are expected across Great Britain and Northern Ireland"
If I hear that ONE MORE TIME I swear that TV is going to end up lodged through a brick wall... Can't they report on something more interesting?

Makes you wonder if everyday the news in Australia is "Crikey, it's hot! It was hot yesterday, and our top meteorologists tell us it'll probably be hot tomorrow too!"

You know, that's probably when people in Russia start talking about global warming :D

What if it were "Snowstorms are expected across the Republic of Ireland" - would that make a difference? ;)

We keep hearing the same thing about the "UK and NI" on BBC, so I know how you feel.

Here in Dublin, we're experiencing loss of tap-water due to the city's water pressure beginning to drop (burst mains here and there along with people leaving taps on to prevent burst pipes in their homes) - hope we don't have any burst pipes tonight ...

Kindest regards,

James

Edmonton, Canada broke a record low in the last month with minus 46.1 degrees Celsius, and minus 58 degrees with windchill (And Edmonton is only a few hours from the US border). I've never actually been in temperatures like that. It beat out both poles, and Siberia was the only competition supplanting it as Terrestrial Tyrant at minus 48. I recall minus seventy-something with windchill, waiting for transit that was usually 15-25 minutes late due to snowfall and as such I have experienced frostbite more than once (largely due to my own silliness and vanity). But the last few years have been exceptionally cold in my corner of North America.

But anyway, this does make the average person secretly wistful of global warming and I've heard more than my share of ranting this month.

So, any tropical climates looking for new immigrants? I can do, er... I can post. . :D
