Life is hard enough without Youtube in China.... and now, TJ Productions is also blocked.

For a man who often criticize America on his Youtube channel, I wonder why the great firewall of china would even bother.

i reckon TJ represents free speech.

TJ sucks so I don't care about that.

The Chinese government will control any and everything it can. Just sorta how those kinda things work. Sure he is sorta a free speech person (in the sense everyone has the right to speak but that doesn't make what they say interesting or even useful... you still have the right to say it!!)

I personally think TAA is one of the most intellectually comical atheist figures on Youtube...
if you look past TJ's facade of mantits and ostentatious spontaneity,
his clarity in freethinking is unrivaled,
his humor & reasoning often hit the perfect note, simultaneously...
his charisma, though smeared with a pinch of bravado, is unrelenting,
his pwnage is unsurpassed for a Youtuber,
unless you put him next to the "godless comedy" of Pat Condell...
English humour operates in a different playing field.

i enjoy watching TJ.
and it's an aweful shame that a nation eyeing to become the next world superpower would stoop so low as to censor his website.

You're free to enjoy him all you like! I just can't watch him. For the same reason I can't watch plenty of people. I don't like mean spiritedness.

However considering China's past actions and current ones, such as tearing down the first sex theme park that was built there (reference: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/19/world/asia/19china.html) the blocking of him is par for the course.

I would love if China actually let their people be free. Frankly I don't really understand why they're repressed sooo much by their government. It's probably a mixture of fear and a desire for control. However most of my understanding of China is by way of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms sooooo....

However I would love to visit. I think the people of the country are wonderful, diverse and with such rich arts and history. Maybe when I visit Vietnam this fall I'll see if I can make a detour there :)

No offense but you sound like some sort of spokesperson for TJ. That's a little bit too much admiration bordering on cult of personality for my tastes.

It's a TJ sockpuppet!

TJ's vids have been going down hill for a while now. He's reduced himself to a subscriber whore with nothing interesting to say.

The Chinese should consider themselves lucky!

Have you watched "VFX apologizes to the internets" ?

Tf00t is above & beyond that...
i see him as my distant learning teacher.
he's the fusion of Mr. Rogers and Richard Dawkins of Youtube,
educating the public mass with his arsenal of reason, science, and eye candies for the kid in all of us.
he's the one bunny army,
slowly chipping away the fortress of irrationality with his educational series.
in bunnies we trust~

TJ is in your face.
He stares in the eyes of his victims,
firing away barrages of amusing ad hominem attacks,
The undertaker of Youtube,
who brings forth the comical deaths of his foes.
that's the pwnage i was referring to.

although he has lost some cred ever since his 24hr marathon,
the dude has made over 600 videos with streaks of consistency,
i'm sure TJ will bring back his A game in no time.
the problem is with his lack of inspiration... not with himself.

TJ speaks to a slightly different audience than Thunderf00t. Though he can come off as cynical and petulant, I'd like to think that TJ means well. If you look at the basic undercurrent of TJ's videos, you will see a trend that is fairly comparable to TF00t. It's just that the approach is different. Different strokes for different folks, and all that.

Educating people runs the risk of alienation. That doesn't speak harshly upon TJ's tactics, but rather peoples unwillingness to examine their errant beliefs without knee-jerking. TJ is not a nice person, but there is constant stupidity that needs to be put in its place.
