The stupidest thing a creatonist has ever said to you

"lesson 1 in biblical misconception,'u will surely die' wot was actually said,'i will kill u' wot wasnt."

Can anyone translate for me?
If you're not being facetious: "God told Adam and Eve 'if you eat the fruit, you'll die'; God did not say 'if you eat the fruit I'll kill you'".

Thanks, it has nothing to do with the point I was making though  perhaps that is why it made no sense at all.

I can only interpret it because I know that "you will surely die" is a common translation of the bit where god says not to eat the apple. I imagine the poster filtered your critique through her (or his) poorly developed brain pathways and concluded that you hate god for introducing death into the world, and concluded that this was a proper response (and it vaguely is an ok response, at least given that the poster is trying to defend the undefendable), because the response then becomes "well god isn't actively kiling us! it's just a natural direct consequence of eating the fruit. So you can't critique him over all that".

A Creationist on YouTube said this
It's a sad day for evolution when they have to rely on something like algae to try and support their theories

I thought that was hilarious. Luckily I know a fair bit about fossil algae and their evolution, so I spelled out a short history on algae and how important they are in regards to evolution. As usual, he hasn't replied. It's starting to annoy me because it's happened with practically every creationist I have ever confronted

Of course algae is the only evidence that we have for evolution

That and biogeography, genetics, palaeontology, comparative anatomy, taxonomy, microbiology, phylogenetics, embryology, and so on and so on...

That's not what he was saying. When he made that comment, he meant that evolutionists have no evidence whatsoever and using something as uninteresting and banal as algae to prove evolution is useless and infact disproves it, stating that we have no way of knowing that any evolutionary change wasn't already in the pumps. I guess he didn't know that algae don't live in waterpipes or pumps, or that we have an extensive fossil record.

Of course earlier he had stated that he was of a very high intelligence and had finished at the top of his class. Little good it did him here.

The most batshit ridiculous thing I have ever read was on the ratskep forums, by Robert Byers, who declared that the evolution of whales failed to provide evidence of evolution, since it only showed "evolution within the kind".
Brilliant insanity really. Land mammal becomes 100% aquatic mammal and it's only "evolution within kinds".

Oh come on, you can do better than that with Byers. That's not even trying. This is the man who once stated that Polar Bears are white because they are scared.

Someone had it in their signature on the Dawkins forum a couple of years back, can't remember who it was. Robert Byers was a regular there, the resident creationist nut, you might say. Callilasseia used to use him as a play thing, it was somewhat brutal.

Would of loved to have seen that

of course the non believers make friends with you, they serve their master satan and want to manipulate you. Atheists are not your friends, they are troll servents of Satan. You should not associate with them, for they will fill your head with doubts so that you will serve their dark master with them. I noticed your videos took an anti Christian turn, and I bet it was when you started hanging out with them. I, worry about you turtle, Ironcross has a good point and you should pay attention.

I gotta ask, Puppy, how does hearing stuff like that affect you?

And well, I guess there's nothing that can be argued against that kind of thing, because one could always retort with "But that's exactly what a servant of Satan would say to fool you."

People like that won't change their minds even in the face of truth, because their dogma demands that they stick to the dogma. It's a sort of logical loop.

How does fundamentalist dishonesty look from the other side, Puppy? Annoying, isn't it?

Extremely, But I have to ask, Was I quite as bad as that?

Well, you were pretty bad, but I don't recall you busting out accusations of Satanism, so that's something. Besides, ain't a soul here or anywhere else who can't look back at something they've said or written or done and say, "Oh crap, I was a moron."

I keep hoping it'll happen less as I get older. It doesn't seem to be working.

If someone can't find something they've said that makes them realize that, then their is definitely something wrong with them. Try as you might, this is not something you can avoid.

.... yes.... you may not have busted out the 'you're a satanist' card, but you pulled out plenty of others which were just as bad (The Hovind Theory..... The theory that isn't even a coherent thought... oooooowwwww!!!! Trying to contemplate it hurts!)... I went and read through part of that debate again and... yeah, it's pretty bad...
