Start making some sense in your posts, please. This is ridiculous...

Oh, I don't know. I think leeway should be applied due to the fact that he's the first person to go from being a subject in this thread to being a contributor....

Guy: evolution makes nearly perfect sense
Guy: however
Guy: the bible makes nearly perfect sense as well
Me: sure
Guy: it's a tie
Guy: i could come up with a theory and tie in all loose ends
Guy: it would take less than a month to perfect it
Guy: that's evolution for you
Guy: ok let's see
Guy: MY THEORY: the universe always existed of floating noses created by gas and dust combining to make a natural nose shape, 1 of the noses sneazed because it wasn't processed all the way and released unprocessed creation dust, thus the planets and stars came around spread apart from the universe
Guy: the nose gene went into humans
Me: ok
Me: where's your proof?
Guy: where's yours?
Guy: i'm just trying to show you how easy it is to come up with a theory and fake proof

I'm not sure if I just got trolled or not

Sounds like he read to much Douglas Adams. All hail the Great Green Arkleseizure.

[. . .]what is the thing that made you laugh, cry, or generally cry for the human race that a creationist has ever said[?][. . .]
I have never spoken with a creationist in person, nevertheless, if you just mean "said"- per se, then here,
Easy:

  • 1.) When a Tsunami hits, 'God' works in mysterious ways...

2.) When a team of (scientifically literate) medical health specialists (doctors) cure someone using our own medicine, it's God's Work...

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

For me personally, not least the second one...

As for evolution, which they seem so ardently against;

I start wonder if these four images would work better for this people:

(GRAPHIC OWNAGE!!)

After a creationist copy/pasted a wall of text from this website : http://contenderministries.org/evolution/carbon14.php

he said this:
If you're issue is with the "biblical" parts of this, the flood is scientific fact, (all real scientists have accepted it, and so have the kooks that aren't blatantly kooks) and the bible's version of history (apart from god and the rising from the dead stuff) is widely accepted, even amongst evolutionists.

Now for the fossil record argument... (not the carbon dating part, since that's already covered)

There has never been any supporting fossils, or recorded mutations that would even come close to being a link between humans and any other creature. Look it up, it's common knowledge. Seems like there should be at least ONE skeleton or bone to support evolution if it actually happened... I mean seriously, not even one generation of human/ape hybrids?!?

I have just presented an extremely small selection of disproving evidence for the evolution side, and why evolution shouldn't be taught in schools. (bad science all around) Anyone willing to try disproving creationism with as much evidence?

They really do live in a fantasy world.

I got some more from the same creationist.
I have yet to see any genetic mutation (that doesn't make the person infertile/dead) carry over. Please show me an example of it, or any "beneficial" mutation traversing the generations.

Then someone else started talking about Darwin's finches as an example
There is no PROOF that the differences were caused by mutations, or any other genetic alterations.

How do you even argue with a person like this?

Actually the entire topic is a gem if people are interested http://www.accursedfarms.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=991

Okay, so lately I've returned to Youtube and set about trying to correct misconceptions and mistakes creationist commenters are making concerning the fossil record on one particular channel, and while these comments were not initially directed towards me, I've become fully involved.

So first the guy said this
People will start to call me ignorant when I disagree with their worldview or philosophy. It is a pattern that I have seen when I diagree with people who believe as you do. Once they see that I disagree and resist their ideas they do not hesitate to bring, out the ignorant card. I am not just guessing this, I know.

Then this
It is true that there are billions of fossils of former living creatures that remain preserved for our observation., But this, however, is the story of extinction, not evolution.

And this
I have gone diging myself a few times and not once have I discovered a fossil that was in transition into another form, they are completed as they are.

 Something tells me the 'ignorant card' will be brought out alot more in the course of this debate...

This. This is exactly the core problem with creationists. And it's not just ignorance. It's ignorance, plus misconception, plus confidence in their (false) position (Dunning-Kruger), PLUS confirmation bias steming from an emotional attachment to their worldview.

It's a whole stew of fail.

One of the "best" examples of this is Ray Comfort on TV with Pat Robertson, talking about the evolution of the dog.

Someone once made a comment (though not directed at me) which was about how he didn't understand how one celled organisms could exist if evolution is true.

I had this chat while in ShockOfGod's chat room. I am not sure what this person was getting on about. I was SpaceMan.

[0:1:14:30] GodsGrace: SpaceMan, did you know that it is impossible to determine a planet's magnetic field?
[01:15:59] SpaceMan: Actually, I took a physics course regarding the physics of Magnetic Fields. I think my proffessor would disagree with you.
[01:16:11] GodsGrace: you and your professor are wrong
[01:17:15] GodsGrace: Dr russelll made an accurate prediction of a planet... but I can't remember which one... however.
[01:17:43] GodsGrace: he made the calculation and using the standard method modern science was way off...
[01:18:08] GodsGrace: fortunately science is not too stupid... when we sent out a satalite to pass by another planet...
[01:18:54] GodsGrace: they used a differnet calculation... this time they said the structure of the prior planet (whos magnetic field they had predicted incorrectly)
[01:19:40] GodsGrace: they said the structure is the same as the prior planet ... so they made an ad lib prediction that the magnetic sheilds would be similar.... thus copying dr russells prediction

Hit the nail on the head. And then confidence inevitably becomes arrogance, which only compounds the issue. Thing is, he's a frequent poster, and when I replied with a poopload of fossil examples with features that he said do not exist (aka transitional forms like...half wings half legs, half scales half feathers, half developed eyes etc), he went completely silent. I also gave him example of a highly successful animal that hardly illustrates a story of extinction. Maybe he just got busy with real life, but I hope he went and looked on every creationist site to try and find a way to refute what I said. If that's what he did, I'm almost certain he won't find much info on the fossils I listed. He'll actually need to read a book or go on a scientific journal or webpage. Lol, wishful thinking  . He'll probably just ignore me.

Ha, I saw that thing with Ray and Pat. It wasn't fail stew, it was fail gruel :p

Not to me, but said?
Adolf Hitler said:
"Where do we acquire the right to believe that man has not always been what he is now? The study of nature teaches us that, in the animal kingdom just as much as in the vegetable kingdom, variations have occurred. They've occurred within the species, but none of these variations has an importance comparable with that which separates man from the monkey , assuming that this transformation really took place."

I wonder what Nephy would say if he was shown this quote in a discussion? He banned me when I was debating him the second I presented this quote to him from Hitler.
