Post here your story on your life in the Great Recession or as its better known, the Global Economic Downturn.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I live in one of the most hard hit cities of the recession: Miami, Florida. The current status of the recession here looks to be grim and
getting worse. The city of Naples in the west coast of Florida is almost abandoned; coincidentally, they are immigrating here. The county (shire for you Brits) of Miami-Dade is looking at a 427 million deficit in their budget and even the "Donald Trump of the Tropics", Jorge Perez, is looking at possible liquidation; hes lost about 2.5 billion dollars of his personal fortune.

There are thousands of people unemployed, including one of my tenants, and the prospect of anyone getting a job is grim to impossible. One of my family members is in foreclosure and has already gotten his car repossessed. Bank financing is even worse; even people with perfect credit are finding it impossible to get a loan. Me and my father wanted to open a window dealer and even with the 800+ credit rating of my father and 2 houses as collateral, they did not want to give us the loan. Hopefully as they see profits (savings) rise, which is already happening, they will back off a little bit on the restrictions.

The Keynesian solution to the recession: Build a 515 million dollar stadium and plant a lot of trees.
