I guess we might need one of these.

Would be nice to get a few games together with some LoR people. :)

So I'm wondering who's playing? And what are your impressions?

Personally, I'm not 100% enthused, which is not to say that I'm not enthused at all. I just think the game is a lot darker and some of the settings are a lot more dreary to look at than previously. Not that any of the Diablo games were supposed to be "light".
Also, I think the ability to choose abilities with your character (at least early on in the game) has diminished, but that might just be me being a noob.

It looks like they've put a lot of new stuff into the game, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. And I'm doing it classical man-style, of course, not reading any damn manual or watching any tutorial.

I'm more of a solo-gamer myself.

Enjoying this game. I play on the American server, ID is Aught3#2481. Might as well get some use out of the constant need for an internet connection.

Well I thought I added you but it didn't seem to take so I'm not sure if it works across servers, but I'll check again.

I'm playing a wizard character, yourself?

I have a character of each of the archtypes, but I really haven't played the monk very much, my highest leveled character is currently a 43 demon hunter.

Hmm, weird.

I'm also a wizard, level 60 just today, but my gear isn't great. Only just now started buying stuff from the Auction House, and that has improved my char a lot!

I do have a new person listed in my social window but it doesn't seem to be a Gnug. Perhaps I will try logging into the European servers and see if you are there, they can't possibly be worse than the American servers :lol:

Level 60 already, that's pretty good I haven't even reached level 30 yet. I wasn't going to buy anything until I reached 60 because it seems like a waste when the characters level up so quickly.

I just unlocked the disintegration beam and am liking that ability. Also the meteor and fire spitting hydra seem quite good so I was thinking about going for a fire-based wizard, what's your build look like?

Leveling is fairly quick, yeah. It also seems more or less insignificant in terms of character stat improvements, which I think is a bit of a shame. It's all about unlockables now, which is a bit simplistic. The main stats are just chosen for you, and they become entirely insignificant the further up you get, because your items will mean everything.

As for buying, you can probably find something really cheap that's excellent for your lvl 30 char. Just do a search with a max limit on the buyout price.

My build is... I don't know. I'm not a l33t player, so I'm just doing what I have found to be most enjoyable and useful. I've currently got some lightning on primary, and the awesome integration beam on secondary. Then I'm using ice shield, force wave, mammoth hydra and blizzard. (Did you know you can edit the 4 power buttons so that you're not limited to using just 1 power from each category? That was quite interesting knowledge that I could have used ages ago. )

I must say, I find it a bit weird and illogical that a wizard gains damage power to his spells from the physical damage power of the weapon he is holding. Not that intuitive. All in all I think they've made a few weird changes in this game compared to D2. But they have also made some upgrades that are really cool.
