The tales of grandaddy longlegs being the most poisonous spider in the world, getting sick from being in the rain, and all sorts of medical ignorance caused by tales people believe over science- caused by the idea and ignorances of Religion?
The superstition aura is around everywhere in America-
"Oh My God!" "Jesus Christ!",etc. all examples of how religion is embedded in american society, people say these Because it is "natural" to American Culture. Christians are thought of as good and the "right way" people. Religion has a profound, overly profound effect on the USA. Not going to church is considered not good, even to really non-religious because of how its embedded in american society.
Any thoughts?

I don't see how some of these really would be tired to religion to be honest.Urban Legends yes, not not really tired to religion.
The daddy long legs one is a Urban legend which even my self I thought was true. In 2004, the Discovery Channel show MythBusters set out to test the daddy long-legs myth (Season 1, Episode 13 "Buried in Concrete"). After measuring the spider's fangs at approximately 0.25 mm (average human skin thickness varies from about 0.5mm to 4mm), the show's host was apparently bitten, although the bite produced little more than a mild short-lived burning sensation. This appears to confirm the suspicion that pholcids can penetrate human skin, but that their venom is practically harmless to humans. Additionally, recent research by Alan Van Dyke has shown that pholcid venom is actually relatively weak in its effects on insects as well.

Now for "all sorts of medical ignorance caused by tales people believe over science- caused by the idea and ignorances of Religion?"

Yes that one is true, many people think praying will fix them.... the parents of these people who allow their kids to get sick and possibly die do need to be punished.

I think you would be surprised at how many people in the US Don't even go to church, now in the south it's more common to go. However in liberal states it seems many don't seem to care if you go or not go, however you will always have a few that will cry over people not attending their local church.

Yes, a great point. My intent was to say that many superstitions are caused by religion, If they will believe one ignorant idea, whos to say they arent more likely to accept another?
