Stuff you're pleased with

So we have a thread for the stuff that irks us, I thought I'd throw a positive counter balance in the mix; a topic to post any achievements/things we've done that make us feel good etc.

I'll make a start:

- The fact that I've been getting top marks for the majority of my college projects
- I've lost 9lbs in the last few weeks

So keep the moaning out of this topic, lets have some positivity :mrgreen:

Had a nice holiday with the Mrs for my birthday, and got a new guitar. Plus, no work until Wednesday.

found out yesterday my eldest daughter is coming home on a brief leave between deployments that we weren't expecting, so now she'll be here in time to celebrate my daddy's 70th birthday next weekend.
I'm very pleased about that.

The flu will often do that really well.

Incidentally, I'm quite pleased that I got rid of that round of flu I've been having lately.

Also, ice cream. Divinity served cold, what else can I say?

That would also make sense, illness can do that to you. Is that the case? If so then I suppose it's not very nice then. Haven't been around to know the latest news in most peoples lives.

Not really a hugely rigorous change; I just started making an effort to cut down on my calorie intake and doing 20 mins cardio exercise each day.

Also by 'few weeks' I mean just under a month.

Not too bad. Misread it as 91 at first. Still a lot for a month, at least 1-2 lbs a week. Once I'm out of High School for good (2 weeks from now) I'll do something similar to get to military height/weight standards.

I have a 100 m^2 plot of grassy land which I managed to turn this weekend. Believe me, it's much more work than you'd think. Maybe I'll get the potatos et al planted this week.

I had a hen who was becoming a hermit, she'd taken up residence in my workshop, hoarding a clutch of eggs that she would attack you if you tried to take, she'd stopped laying as well cuz she'd never get off the eggs to eat. She was basically going to starve to death (freakin psycho chicken)
I gave her a baby chick yesterday (different breed but she doesn't seem to care) Now she's out of the workshop and taking her baby around the yard to show it where the food/water can be found.
w00t! I'm actually a bit more than pleased, I'm chuffed to bits!!

My very lovely friend bought me a 16yo Jura whiskey last night.

It was VERY tasty.

You had me worried there for a moment - my contact lens played up as I reached "...bought me a 16yo..." :shock:

I had to blink a few times to clear it - whilst catching the phrase "...VERY tasty." :shock: :shock: ... before I finally made out what you'd actually written.

At the moment, the thing that's pleasing me is that I'm currently neck-and-neck with a Irish FM (FIDE Master) for our chess club championship. One more win - assuming he only draws - and I'll share this year's title of Club Champion!

Of course, if he loses...!!
