Found this study today at the aforementioned source.

I've been telling people this stuff FOR YEARS though I never had a study to back me up before. I've always found that I had faster problem solving skills than a lot of non-gamers and that I could break tasks down to become more efficient by thinking of them like a real time strategy game.

When I lead a team at Xbox Support I even went so far as to call myself the macro manager and I made a micro manager for each team and basically explained stuff to them in macro and micro RTS terms and I found it worked really well.

Actually I agree, and I know that people who play FPS alot have faster reaction times (on average).

I've been saying this for years as well (everything in moderation though) and I think there is a lot more research to be done on the topic. I strongly believe that playing driving games made it easier for me to learn to drive.
