Unless the board decides to become an image hosting site, you probably can't do this directly from your machine (unless you make your machine into a 24/7 webserver). However, see below.

The image above was posted by using the following code (without the code tags, of course):
Code:

You CAN readily upload your own pics to one of a variety of hosting sites. Flikr is the one I most often use but there are quite a few others, such as Imageshack.

1. Go to this link. - http://www.codecogs.com/components/equationeditor/equationeditor.php
2. Make your equation.
3. Download your picture of your equation

-

4. If you want your picture online, upload it to a picture hosting page - http://imageshack.us/
5. Link the URL where you need it.

Here is AWake's own explanation to posting equations:

How do I delete my account?

Oddly, a search on keywords "delete account" and "unregister" turn up nothing of value. Have I missed something obvious or have I checked into the Hotel California?

arg-fallbackName="CosmicSpork"/>
If you want an account deleted send an email to webmaster@leagueofreason.org.uk using the email address you registered the account with containing the username of the account and whether you want want your posts deleted as well (we would prefer they weren't but will delete them if that's what is absolutely wanted) with the subject "Please delete my account."

Deleting accounts is not readily available to users because of the chance that someone may have left their account logged in on a computer accessible by others. Also it happens that rarely and is quite destructive that it's better left done manually. This cannot be undone.

Hope this helps :)

Ugh - probably my being stupid, but I still haven't caught up on how to use BB instead of HTML - how does one post a link, so that the visible link in the post is what I want it to read, rather than the url??

The text between the url tags is what will be displayed in the post, and you can add the link in the opening tag. So, the format is:
Code:
[url=http://forums.leagueofreason.co.uk]League of Reason Forums[/url]
Which results in the link League of Reason Forums.

My question: is there a BB code escape character?

How do I post a quote from a previous post in the same thread?
By clicking the "Quote" button in the top right corner. Or by clicking "reply" and then in the scroll bar below the large text box, highlighting what you want to quote and click "quote". Or by typing
Code:
[quote] followed by a copy paste of what you want to quote, followed by [/quote]
. You can even set the "author" of it by typing quote="<insert name here>" instead of just quote.

The way you've done it ;)

Alternatively if you don't intend to use BB code at all you can tick the "Disable BBCode" checkbox in the posting options.

Thank you. I will try it out.
