I've decided to start a general Star Trek discussion thread becuase I love Star Trek and it is one of my favorite things to discuss. Also Star Trek is extremely great and important and if you disagree I officially hate you! Discuss all matters relavent to Star Trek. What is your favorite series/captain/character/aliens/etc? Which Trek girls do you think are cute? Thoughts on the upcoming movie, etc.
I was watching "Chain of Command" earlier and I've come to the conclusion that if anyone other than Patrick Stewart had tried to pull off that ever so classic, memorable, and quoteable line of his it would have come off as ultra cheesy, but when he did it it was awesome! "THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!" Just goes to show, Patrick Stewart sure is one of a kind when it comes to acting.
Speaking of Picard, anyone else find it strange that despite supposedly being French, he has no French accent? If anything he has a bit of a Brittish accent! The funny thing is that his brother who LIVES IN FRANCE has even less of French accent than his brother who spends all his time surrounded by guys with pleasent North American intonations! His nephew sounds like he walked off the set of a Dickens adaption, with his "mums" and "allos", and his father, who supposedly lived in France his entire life doesn't have any kind of European accent at all. What's up with that??
I have a theory about all this. What I think happened is that the French people were exterminated in the Eugenics Wars and afterwards France was repopulated by islanders who fake their frenchiness. Seems about as likely as any other theory I've heard.
