A friend of mine gave me a 5 day trial buddy key yesterday, I'm actually quite enjoying the game so far :D

Anyone else playing it?

No, but I'd very much like to.

New forum for players @ http://starfleets.net though.

My only negative comments so far is that the ground combat is a bit lacking, the enemies are a bit too dumb sometimes. Also, it feels a bit lonely :(

Oh no... That's not a good sign.

it's fun...but it's an MMO but plays like a linear offline game... and even playing it casually will get you done with all the content in 5 days of game play

I played it for a several hours during beta (thanks to xxdjsethxx for the key), I found it to be lacking. Nothing very new, and not terribly well executed. If you want free and good, there's always atlantica; if you want a good trial there's always DDO; and if you don't want to pay monthly there's always guild wars; all of which are far better executions of the MMO concept.

Guild Wars doesn't have a monthly fee ;) I'm beginning to feel the same way about this, I like being able to do star trekky things and the space battles are still really cool but it's very repeatitive...

In all honesty I'm waiting for SWTOR, I am hoping it'll blow all other MMO's out of the water... but I am a Bioware fanboy so I would say that

Methinks you misread.

I was never really a star trek fan myself, so it was merely another mmorpg for me to try out.

Ah yes, bioware, I knew there was a reason I was expecting it to not be terrible.

I play STO and rather enjoy it. Zoten@Zoten001 if anyone from here is interesed in adding me in game.

And as for the game's repetitiveness... Doesn't every MMO suffer that problem?
