Well as you all should know, I am GeologyJack, I study geological engineering as a student and I plan on moving on and getting my masters in straight up geology or maybe a bit of planetary geology coming up soon. Nothing fascinates me more than the terrestrial bodies that make up the universe and I jump on any interesting geo fact I find (currently its the rocky cores of gas giants). My specialty is minerals and geochemistry along with planetary evolution. I also work as an aide at a beautiful geology museum and would recommend you find your way over to it if you happen to either be in the greater Denver area for a bit, contact me and I'll give you the special tour. I've always been known to be a bit random in my thinking s that will be my segway out of geology. I adore music in general and specifically I love classic alternative rock. i also have a radio show that used to be every Friday night but now is on break. You can look it up on facebook at The Hat N' Fro Power Hour and become a fan and get updates about upcoming shows, great albums, or shows. I am a walking fact book. As for why I am here, I was raised as a wee little fundie and up until the middle of my education (middle school for those in the states, not sure for the brits and other non-statesiders) and was known to answer questions by saying "thats the work of God and it shouldn't be questioned." I jumped out of fundiehood when I realized that all of the explanations for dinosaurs really seemed quite stupid and therein became a gap creationist. Still believe in the flood though until my history teacher gave me a basic copy of the Epic of Gilgamesh which finally tore up any validity to the old testament. In secondary school a teacher introduced me to Buddhism, one of my exs got me thinking about Baha'i (interesting religion), and soon I got my copy of The God Delusion and from there I progressed from an Agnostic to a weak Atheist then to a full blown Scientific Naturalist. And thats me.
