Sherlock Holmes..... crap?

I'd hate to revive an old dead thread, but I ended up here in the course of banning the above forum spammer...

So anyway, having seen the movie, it's not very good... and yet I enjoyed it.

Ok, so I was watching the trailer for the new Sherlock Holmes film, with Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law, and I wondered something...

Am I the only one who thinks its going to suck?

The trailer makes it look like an action flick, rather than the laid-back detective story it should be. My understanding is that it is supposed to be a younger version of watson and holmes, but it really just looks like an excuse for a poor story and lots of bare-knuckle boxing.

Thoughts?

I like the first movie. I hope the second will be as good if not better than the first.

Seconded. The movie was complete crap and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

It was ok I suppose. Nothing special. I by far and away preferred the recent BBC modernised series.

I didn't make it through the whole movie. My eye started twitching half-way through it and I had to leave to prevent me from killing something. I'm a Sherlock Holmes puritan. I can't help it.

I've never seen it. I love Sherlock Holmes, I love Robert and Jude... not so keen on watching Tony Stark in the Victorian era with the moniker of Holmes.
