Happy Zombie Jesus weekend folks! For those with access to iPlayer, I encourage you to listen to this radio debate between Dr. Evan Harris (secular politician for evidence-based policy) and Stephen Green (Christian Voice homophobe)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b010mwqj/Stephen_Nolan_24_04_2011/

Skip to about 5:40 to hear the start. Those who argue that we in the UK don't have any 'American-style' crazies should keep a close eye on Stephen Green. Also, everyone should follow Evan Harris, because he's a don and a damn nice bloke to boot.

I'll put our crazies up against yours any ol' day, my friend. But yeah, this guy is, as you say, a twat.

I wonder what moderate Christians think about Stephen Green,.....oh hang on, I can find out:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Green_(Christian_Voice)

Relevant paragraph: "The group has been criticised for its positions. The Rev. Dr. David Peel, leader of the United Reformed Church called Christian Voice "a disgrace" and described their "claim to represent Christians" in the UK as "absurd"."

I am curious as to the purpose of this thread,....it appears to me that all this thread achieves is to help with the dissemination of Stephen Green's idiot views.

The man is just a irl troll. If people stopped giving him the oxygen of publicity (and oxygen) him and his Christian Voice nutjobs would bugger off.

Yeah, Stephen Green is a complete wanker/fuckwit/twat/cunt-knuckle and is best ignored.

Oh, australopithecus - bit of an obscure signature, old chap! I'm undecided on whether that's in my canon :D

Oh, it's canon alright. If it's fine by Moffat it's fine by me :)

But... but... it's from a deleted scene, non?

Those butchers at the BBC are to blame, it's a fantastically scripted scene.

Is it? I think I'd rather his motives for having companions were somewhat mysterious, and to learn that he's bored with the universe sets a tone I'm not sure is tenable given his character. I liked that Amy made a gag about how many of his companions are (arguably) sexy young ladies...

I love the part around the 22 minute mark where Nolan asks Richard (the 2nd caller) if the church changes with the times too much, would it lose the essence of christianity. Lol yes it will, it has so much already, and as it continues to do so it will lose all influence eventually. Good stuff.
