Cutting off fonds is NEVER easy as the caller pointed out you give money to something you take it from somewhere else.
I would say it priority with science and scientist have to save money too no matter how much they don,´t want too.
While i agree that science is important, i would say not all areas are equally important.
The Large Hadron Collider might be an important project, but its also expensive and doesn,´t provide any immediate benefit.
Where as projects to make new penicillin and other drugs that bacterias aren,´t immune to is in my opinion far more important then figuring out how the universe started.
So i would say if moneys got to saved in science, make the cuts in non-essential projects, projects that society as a whole might not immediately benefit from.

That said blowing of MILLIONS on a BLOODY ROYAL WEDDING! Is a bullshitty as it ever will be. For crying out loud most royals earn more in a year, then most of us do in an entire lifetime let them pay for their own damn wedding and use the money saved on something important. For crying out loud we are in the midst of a global financial crisis and paying for royal weddings or any weddings that are not our own, some family member or friend,´s, is a luxury that went out the window the moment the financial crisis hit us.

Yes you really got to ask yourself which is more important: Scientific discoveries that can end up saving human lives and over all benefit mankind in the near future or a big royal wedding that although it has a huge media coverage doesn,´t really benefit anyone except for the people getting married?
