Are you using anything like this now? If so, we know what not to look for. But I don't know any right now.

Greetings,

Not sure what you mean, Master_Ghost_Knight...

Are you looking for screen-capture software or something suitable for use by the blind...?

Kindest regards,

James

The idea is just being able to record my desktop and aplications as they appear on my computer screen, it would be good if it has some versatility and yet be fast and it is able to record sound as well.

I will take a look into camstudio, thankyou for the link, if anyone knows of anything ele better please give me aheads up.

Look for game recording softwares like fraps. They give much smoother recording as they are designed to record games. (Of course they can record anything on your desktop other than games as well.)

Go ahead! You'll be surprised. I did a comparison some time ago. Camstudio sucks when it comes to smooth animation. It becomes a 5 fps animation with skips all over. Fraps can record very smoothly.

Fraps is very good when it comes to gamming no doubt about it, but it seems that I am unable to record stuff on my desktop, help?
Edit: NVM, problem solved
