It doesn't make a difference, except that it might save some lives.

Nah.

There will be a lot of sensors everywhere , so governments will be able to localise people .

Personally, I don't want it. But that doesn't mean it's a government conspiracy to track people down or some NWO crap.

from an privacy standpoint I don't like what governments are doing with it, from every other standpoint I applaud it and think it is a great new tool for various uses.

Scariest thing I think is the passports. I'm not up to speed with it, but if they fuck it up, identity theft will become extremely easy. In 2008 a dutch security expert already modified his e-passport to check-in on schiphol airport as elvis presley.
Could only find a article in dutch about it, but here's a google translate anyway.
article about e-passport hack

I met someone who had one in his finger and used it to unlock his house and car.

I'm not against this sort of thing, as I'm pretty sure the world's not going to become like Gattaca. Not going to save the world, but will be quite handy.

... Looks far too painful and far too much hassle for me. If it were an easy-to-insert-and-remove thing I would go for it, but since it actually involves a painful operation, not a chance.

Nah, don't want it.
But one thing are certain: That commercial is the gayest commercial I've ever seen. Are such ones regular in USA?

I wouldn't call it gay. If it were, there'd be men having sex with each other all through it.

The technology might still be too young.
But I think that many would consider the idea of getting one for eg. opening and closing your housedoor. So you'll never worry about loosing the key.
Or the car.

But thinking that the government would use it to track people's movement is a bit paranoid.

May I add that it doesn't have a GPS? At best it can work as an ID (which can be read without being asked).

Foot in the door, MGK.

When they can already do that with your bluetooth cell phone.

Who gives a crap even if we were being tracked with these things?!

Doesn't really prevent me from leading my life how I want, we leave traces anyway!
